According to VTC News reporters, at the beginning of August, a feverish construction atmosphere was observed at the Tan Van interchange – a vital connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. Multiple construction operations were simultaneously deployed, utilizing specialized machinery and a large number of workers to expedite progress and ensure adherence to the established timeline.

The Ho Chi Minh City Transport Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority shared that the section of Ring Road 3 passing through the old Binh Duong province, spanning 26.6 kilometers, has been divided into four construction packages. It is anticipated that this section will be technically open to traffic by the end of 2025.

Up to now, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project has achieved 42.42% of the construction volume, falling behind the schedule by 8.55%. Specifically, the Tan Van interchange, which is part of the XL1 package, has only completed approximately 23.7% of the work and is being expedited to make up for the delay.

Observations at the construction site reveal a bustling scene with workers and specialized equipment operating non-stop to expedite the completion of the project.

The construction units are currently carrying out mass drilling for piles at P11-P14 piers belonging to branch N3.2; pier P38, abutment A2; and piers P16, P18, P19, P34, and P35 of the main line viaduct. Simultaneously, construction work is being executed at the canal crossing bridges (Km26+790, Km27+740) of the main line and the parallel roads.

The Tan Van interchange (part of the XL1 package) is over 2.5 kilometers long, stretching from Km25+990 to Km28+383, and is a component of the fifth sub-project of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3. The route commences in the old Binh Duong province and was initiated in April 2024, with an expected completion date of December 2026.

The Tan Van interchange project, with a contract value of nearly VND 2,000 billion, is being executed by a consortium of seven contractors and is one of the key components of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3.

The Tan Van interchange contract affects 532 households and organizations, with a total land area of over 17.76 hectares being reclaimed. Regarding resettlement, the authorities have organized four rounds of examinations, and 221 cases have completed the lottery and selection of resettlement land to stabilize their lives as soon as possible.

The Tan Van interchange holds a particularly important role in Ho Chi Minh City’s eastern transport system, connecting to six critical routes: Hanoi Highway (National Highway 1A), Metro Line 1, Ring Road 3, DT.743A (sections 3 and 4), and Nguyen Xien Street. Additionally, the project directly links to Dong Nai Bridge, a vital transportation link between Ho Chi Minh City and the southeastern provinces.
