The project for the Southwest Hanoi Urban Area’s Park and Lake belongs to the Trung Hoa and Yen Hoa wards. The land area for the project implementation is 112,410 m2, of which 13,132 m2 is for roads shared with the area; and 99,233 m2 is for the park and lake.

In 2010, the Hanoi People’s Committee granted an investment certificate to VNT Company to implement the Park and Lake Project in the Southwest Hanoi Urban Area. The project was expected to be completed by 2015-2016. However, it has not yet reached its planned completion.

From 2014 until now, the investor has only been carrying out one item: excavating the lake. However, this task is not yet complete. Other items, such as underground and auxiliary works, have not been implemented.

The project still has a cemetery area that needs land clearance.

The project is fenced off on all sides, with overgrown vegetation inside. The entrances to the project are always locked.

The area around the project has become a parking lot for residents living in the surrounding area.

Garbage and construction waste are strewn along the perimeter, especially near Mac Thai Tong and Nguyen Chanh streets.

Previously, a representative of VNT Company committed to completing the lake item by the first quarter of 2023 and all project items by the fourth quarter of 2025. In the last months of 2023, the project restarted construction but was then temporarily halted, and there are currently no signs of resumption.
