Cultural Heritage as a Unique Resource
With a deep understanding of cultural heritage as a “unique resource” for socio-economic development, especially cultural tourism, Tu Son has, over the years, mobilized the strength of the entire society to invest in the preservation and promotion of various forms of cultural heritage. The city has also focused on supporting and creating conditions for the community to actively participate in practicing, performing, and promoting heritage. As of July 2024, the city is preserving 203 relics, including 103 historical and cultural relics ranked by the state, comprising: 1 special national relic – the Tomb and Temple of the Ly Dynasty kings, 43 national relics, and 59 provincial relics.
Along with a rich system of historical and cultural relics, Tu Son also preserves and promotes intangible cultural heritage with nearly 50 traditional festivals held annually. The most prominent are the Den Do Festival and the Dong Ky Firecracker Festival, featuring many unique and refined cultural rituals and customs. Tu Son is also proud to be one of the localities that actively contribute to the preservation and promotion of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs, with 2 original Quan Ho villages, 9 practicing villages, and thousands of active Quan Ho clubs. Accompanying these are customs, rituals, beliefs, performing arts, and a diverse and unique cuisine that are still preserved and maintained in contemporary life, such as Tuong and Cheo opera, and the “ket cha” tradition.
A Harmonious Blend of “Old Villages” and “New Towns”
Tu Son city also boasts a harmonious blend of “old villages” and “new towns,” coexisting and developing together. The centuries-old traditional villages of Dinh Bang, Phu Khe, Phu Luu, Huong Mac, and Dong Ky, among others, encapsulate a rich treasury of unique and valuable cultural heritage, along with the profound and meaningful way of life of the Kinh Bac people. In the current development trend, cultural heritage is becoming an invaluable human resource for creative industries such as cultural tourism and handicrafts.

Tu Son City Center at Night
In workshops and seminars, experts and researchers shared the view that Tu Son meets all the criteria to develop into a modern heritage city within a young city. A necessary and appropriate direction, considering the current situation and development trend, is to develop the heritage economy through tourism. However, throughout the process of developing Tu Son’s urban heritage tourism, it is essential to ensure the “three musts”: Must protect the environmental landscape, care for green spaces, gardens, and the traditional “town-village” landscape in harmony with the “rhythm of heritage”; Must preserve the unique culture, festivals, and historical relics; and Must develop modern science and technology.
VSIP Bac Ninh – A Melding of Traditional and Modern Values
With abundant potential and internal strengths, Tu Son has strategically exploited and effectively promoted the value of cultural products, ensuring sustainable development in the new context. Notably, the city has demonstrated foresight and vision in opening its doors to reputable investors, forming civilized and modern urban areas with diverse amenities. The most prominent among these is Centa Riverside, part of the grand VSIP Bac Ninh project. This is the sweet fruit of cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore – VSIP (a joint venture between Singapore’s Sembcorp and Vietnam’s Becamex IDC Corp).

It also reflects the developer’s sensitivity and dedication to preserving and promoting the thousand-year-old traditional values of the Land of Kinh Bac Kings in a Green City with Singapore standards. Located in the golden land of Kinh Bac Kings, rich in traditions and the birthplace of the glorious Ly Dynasty, the region is known for its “human resources.” With endless inspiration from the smooth tunes of Quan Ho folk songs and the exquisite craftsmanship of the local villages, Centa Riverside offers a living space imbued with traditional essence, synergizing with the dynamic development of the young city of Tu Son, the gateway to the Capital Region’s trade.
