According to reports, Apple is expected to host an event for the iPhone 17 series on September 9 (12:00 am on September 10 in Vietnam). Pre-orders will reportedly begin on September 12, with the first devices reaching consumers’ hands on September 19.
This year, the tech industry is particularly focused on pricing as multiple sources suggest that Apple will increase prices by approximately $50 (roughly VND 1.3 million) across all models, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The price hike is believed to be a result of escalating component costs, the impact of new US-China trade policies, and widespread disruptions across Apple’s supply chain.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to start at $900 (approximately VND 23.6 million), implying that premium models like the iPhone 17 Pro Max could reach a new record high of $1,249 (around VND 32.7 million).
In recent years, Vietnam has consistently witnessed later release dates compared to priority markets (such as the US, Japan, and Europe) by several weeks or even months.
However, given the exceptional sales performance in previous generations, Vietnam is likely to be among the earliest launch markets this year. Following the usual schedule, local consumers can expect to pre-order from September 12 and receive their devices in the first wave on September 19.
The iPhone’s popularity in Vietnam is evident from its record-breaking sales figures. Despite controversies surrounding the iPhone 16 series’ launch last year, it still generated revenues of VND 4,500-5,000 billion in the first month, equivalent to approximately 130,000-150,000 units sold.
Previously, the iPhone 14 achieved VND 1,500 billion in sales on its launch day in 2022, while the iPhone 15 series brought in over VND 1,000 billion in revenue on its opening day in 2023 for Apple’s authorized resellers in Vietnam.
Apple’s upcoming event will not solely focus on the iPhone 17 series. The company is also expected to unveil new products, including the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and AirPods Pro 3. This makes September 9 an even more anticipated date for the global tech community, especially in strong iPhone consumer markets like Vietnam.
Currently, all information remains speculative. Apple has not confirmed any details regarding pricing or the release date of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, with the rumored upgrades, Apple appears to be positioning the iPhone 17 Pro Max as a premium device that offers practical improvements and appeals to customers willing to pay a premium for an enhanced experience.
