The Nguyen Tuan Road Improvement and Expansion Project in Thanh Xuan District has faced delays, and according to Mr. Dang Hoang Linh, Head of the Investment and Infrastructure Project Management Board of Thanh Xuan District, the entire project is now expected to be completed by March 2026.

The project involves the improvement and expansion of Nguyen Tuan Street, with a total length of approximately 720 meters. The road will have a width of 21 meters, including a 15-meter carriageway and 3-meter wide sidewalks on both sides. The project, with a total investment of VND 400 billion, is managed by the People’s Committee of Thanh Xuan District (formerly the People’s Committee of Thanh Xuan District).

As of now, the project has completed the construction of the new C19 concrete asphalt section from No. 162 Nguyen Tuan to the intersection of Nguyen Tuan and Nguyen Huy Tuong.

Since the afternoon of August 12, the construction unit has removed the fence and technically opened the road to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Grand Celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Currently, the project is in the process of installing sewers and manholes for the water supply and drainage systems, as well as laying pipes for telecommunication and lighting systems. The entire project is expected to be completed by March 2026.

Mr. Linh attributed the delay to challenges and obstacles encountered during the project’s implementation. Specifically, the transition of local administration at two levels led to changes in the investor and bidding processes and procedures. As a result, some packages, including the relocation of the power and information systems, have not met the initial schedule.

Additionally, there is one remaining case of compensation and site clearance at No. 35A Nguyen Tuan, a two-story old collective house (housing six families), for which there is no specific land price for compensation when the state recovers land for the project.

Mr. Linh shared that the Management Board is actively coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities to overcome these difficulties. At the same time, they are urging construction units to concentrate their resources and efforts to complete the entire project by March 2026.
