After selling Phuc Long Coffee & Tea to Masan, founder Lam Boi Minh stepped away from managing the coffee chain and ventured into the hospitality industry. He established Phuc Long Hospitality, focusing on developing a hospitality ecosystem.

The first initiative is the Phuc Long Luxury Hotel, newly opened at 244 Vo Nguyen Giap, Son Tra District, Da Nang. The hotel offers nine types of rooms, most of which boast ocean views, and is just a short stroll from My Khe Beach.

The property features amenities such as an infinity mineral salt pool on the top floor, a spa, a gym, and a children’s play area. It also houses a restaurant serving Vietnamese and international cuisine, along with meeting rooms and event spaces that can accommodate up to 220 guests.

Lam Boi Minh, born in 1946, is the founder of the Phuc Long Coffee & Tea brand. He built the brand from its inception in 1968 and opened the first three stores in Ho Chi Minh City in the 1980s, laying the foundation for its future growth.

In 2021, he sold a 51% stake in Phuc Long Heritage to Masan Group, valuing the brand at an estimated $355-455 million. Following subsequent transactions, Masan increased its ownership to 85%.

Mr. Minh believes that partnering with a large corporation was a necessary step to introduce Phuc Long to the international market in a systematic and sustainable manner. Prior to this, he had experimented with a franchise model in the US without charging any fees.

Beyond the beverage industry, he also serves as the legal representative of Phu Nhuan 168 Joint Stock Company, acquired from Coteccons in 2022.
