On the evening of May 10, the CEO of Green and Smart Movement Joint Stock Company (GSM) – Xanh SM Nguyen Van Thanh shared a story on his personal Facebook page about the challenging process of awarding prizes to winners of the “Vietnamese Spirit” program, which offered a VF3 car as a prize for customers and drivers.
According to the post, the first winner went missing after being notified of their win.
Here is the story as recounted by CEO Nguyen Van Thanh:
CEO: “Who’s the winner, team? Have you contacted the customer yet?”
CMO: “Reporting to the boss, the customer answered the call but said they were busy and asked to call back… and then disappeared. We tried reaching out via OA Zalo, the Xanh app, personal messages, but to no avail.”
CEO: “That’s absurd! Give me the number, and I’ll call them.”
… After two unanswered calls, I sent a Zalo friend request with a message saying, “I’ve sent you a friend request, please accept and check my profile. Then give me a call.”
Five minutes later, the phone rang.
Customer: “Did I really win a car? This isn’t a scam, is it?”
CEO: “If you don’t accept, I’ll take it for myself.”
And thus, Thanh Huy, the first owner of a VF3 car, was successfully convinced.
The second winner, Ms. Mien:
She also didn’t believe it.
In fact, she boldly declared:
“Thank you, but I don’t want it. I’ll give it to the others!”
It was only when her close friend tagged her in the program’s post that she finally believed it and accepted the gift.
(Fortunately, the organizers didn’t accept the gift on her behalf!)
The third winner, a Xanh Bike driver:
Luckily, since he was a Xanh driver, the operator was able to reach him immediately. The driver also had a challenging home situation as he had to take care of a family member in the hospital while working.
CEO Xanh SM concluded:
Xanh’s customers are “rich in emotions but lacking in trust.”
Winning a car led to:
• One customer offering the gift to the organizers,
• Another wanting to give it to a friend,
• And the third considering donating it to charity.
“Xanh SM is clearly a ‘victim’ of this era of high alert,” Nguyen Van Thanh exclaimed. “The ‘Vietnamese Spirit’ program is still ongoing. We will be drawing winners and giving away prizes again this Wednesday. So, remember to go Green and ride with Xanh to have a chance to win a VF3! It’s not a scam. But I have to admit, if someone called me out of the blue and told me I won a car, I’d probably… curse.”

In today’s world, where scams are prevalent, the situations described by CEO Nguyen Van Thanh accurately reflect the public’s heightened vigilance when receiving calls about winning prizes, especially those of high value such as cars.
This milestone marks a significant shift towards quality and sustainability in the technology-based transportation service industry.
