Ford’s authorized dealers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong recently shared images of DC fast-charging stations featuring the American brand’s logo, right before the launch of Ford’s first electric vehicle in Vietnam, the Mustang Mach-E, in mid-August.

This infrastructure will be crucial for supporting Ford’s electric vehicle customers in the near future. It is unclear whether the company plans to share its charging stations with other electric vehicle manufacturers or the exact scale of the network.

By installing charging stations at its dealerships, Ford is not only supporting customers who will own the Mustang Mach-E but also demonstrating its long-term commitment to Vietnam in embracing the electric vehicle trend and working towards a sustainable, emission-free future.

Geely, another automotive brand, is also currently working on establishing its electric vehicle charging network in Vietnam, aiming for 50 stations in major cities and key transport hubs by September.

VinFast has been a pioneer in Vietnam in constructing a nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations. Some domestic automobile manufacturers and assemblers like Thaco Auto and TMT Motor are also accelerating their efforts in this field. In contrast, most Chinese manufacturers opt for partnerships with third-party charging networks when bringing electric vehicles to Vietnam.

Ford and Geely’s involvement will contribute to expanding the overall electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the country. Moreover, Ford Vietnam, a well-established brand with a significant market share, entering the electric vehicle market and providing charging stations reflects their positive outlook on the potential growth of Vietnam’s electric vehicle industry.

The soon-to-be-launched Ford Mustang Mach-E in Vietnam is a high-performance electric SUV sold in major markets such as North America, Europe, and China.

In 2022, a private dealer imported the Ford Mustang Mach-E to Vietnam, pricing it at approximately 5 billion VND. However, due to a lack of buyers, the price was gradually reduced to around 3.1 billion VND at the beginning of this year.

Ford Vietnam will announce the official price and technical specifications of the Mustang Mach-E, along with the introduction of the Territory facelift model, on August 15th.
