Danang’s Social Housing Project
Danang has been focusing on developing social housing projects to meet the demands of low-income earners and industrial park workers. The city aims to construct at least one million social housing units by 2030, as outlined in the Prime Minister’s proposal.
According to the proposal, Danang is responsible for delivering 12,800 apartments. 3,445 units are expected to be completed by 2024, and an additional 9,355 units by 2030, with a target of 1,500 units for the year 2025.
The city is currently monitoring the progress of four projects totaling over 1,800 units, slated for completion this year. Additionally, four more projects offering approximately 4,250 units are in the process of selecting investors, while one project with over 190 units is undergoing investment preparation using public investment capital.
Danang has also approved investment policies and attracted investments for five projects totaling nearly 3,500 units. Furthermore, the city has requested the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to proceed with a project to provide around 500 units funded by trade union finances for rental purposes.
This year, the city is executing 15 projects totaling approximately 10,240 units, surpassing the 2025-2030 phase target by over 109%. It is anticipated that 1,800 units will be finished and made available, exceeding the 2025 target by 120.5%.
To boost housing supply, Danang has designated 54 land areas for housing development by 2030, spread across the city’s old districts. Specifically, 27 land areas are located in Hoa Vang district, 12 in Lien Chieu district, 7 in Cam Le district, 7 in Ngu Hanh Son district, and 1 in Son Tra district.
Several social housing projects have been launched recently, including the An Trung 2 Social Housing Project in An Hai Ward, comprising 957 apartments across three blocks. The developer is currently selling blocks A and B, with prices ranging from VND 16.2 million per square meter.
Another example is the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park Social Housing Complex in Lien Chieu Ward, featuring eight apartment buildings expected to provide around 1,800 units to the market…
The accelerated development of social housing projects not only expands access to affordable housing but also enables low-income earners and industrial park workers to achieve homeownership and stabilize their lives.
A Home for All: Social Housing Opportunities
