Celebrating 80 Years of the August Revolution: A Grand Parade and Commemoration

The Hanoi People’s Committee has just announced plans to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025). A grand parade, involving tens of thousands of participants, will be the highlight of the celebrations and will take place at Ba Dinh Square on the morning of September 2, 2025.

Rehearsals for the parade are scheduled for 8 PM on August 21 and 24, with a full-scale rehearsal taking place on the evening of August 27 and a final rehearsal on the morning of August 30. The main venues for these rehearsals include Ba Dinh Square, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the surrounding streets of Hung Vuong, Doc Lap, and Hoang Van Thu.

The parade will consist of various blocks, including the military, police, self-defense militia, foreign delegations, cultural and sports groups, as well as mechanized formations, artillery, and symbolic vehicles. Each block will follow a designated route after passing the reviewing stand.

Block of Ceremonial Objects: This block will proceed towards Nguyen Thai Hoc – Trang Thi – Trang Tien, concluding at the August Revolution Square.

Marching Blocks (Military, Police, Self-Defense Militia, and Foreign Delegations): These blocks will withdraw in three main directions:

Nguyen Thai Hoc – Kim Ma – Lieu Giai – Van Cao – Quan Ngua Stadium.

Nguyen Thai Hoc – Trang Thi – Trang Tien – August Revolution Square.

Nguyen Thai Hoc – Le Duan – Thong Nhat Park.

Mobile Police and Cavalry Block: This block will turn onto Le Hong Phong – Ngoc Ha Street, heading towards Bach Thao Park.

Red Flag Block: Turning onto Le Hong Phong – Doi Can – Giang Van Minh – Kim Ma – Lieu Giai, this block will make its way to Quan Ngua Stadium.

Mass Cultural and Sports Block: Proceeding straight past the reviewing stand, this block will conclude at Hang Day Stadium (model vehicles will turn onto Nguyen Thai Hoc – Trinh Hoi Duc).

Mechanized Blocks: These blocks will divide into two main routes:

Cua Bac – Nghi Tam – Au Co – Vo Chi Cong – Duong Lang – Tran Duy Hung – Thang Long Boulevard – Le Quang Dao – F1 Racing Track.

Nguyen Thai Hoc – Giang Vo – Duong Lang – Tran Duy Hung – Thang Long Boulevard – Le Quang Dao – F1 Racing Track.

The Hanoi People’s Committee emphasizes that these plans have been carefully considered to ensure solemnity, absolute safety, and convenience for the people of the capital and visitors alike to witness and cheer for this significant event in the country’s history.
