Previously, images of the “VinFast VF 9 Special Edition” had been circulating on social media. In addition to Vietnam, industrial property registration documents for this model have also been spotted in several other countries.

One of the most intriguing aspects is the powertrain. Given the similar grille design to internal combustion engine vehicles, some speculate that this limousine may employ a hybrid system, combining a gasoline engine with electric motors.

However, the information on the certificate indicates that the vehicle remains fully electric, like the current VinFast lineup, with no internal combustion engine.

According to the details, the car is equipped with two electric motors, each with a capacity of 150kW (approximately 201 horsepower), paired with a 131 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack and a voltage of 388V.

Compared to the VinFast VF 9, this new limousine has comparable engine specifications but a larger battery capacity (131 kWh versus 123 kWh in the VF 9). This suggests that the vehicle may offer a longer range. The VinFast VF 9 is currently capable of traveling 626 km on a single charge (WLTP standard, Eco version with CATL battery).

Real-life images of the “VinFast Lac Hong 900 LX” that previously circulated online reveal a design similar to the VF 9, but with larger dimensions and new details. Photo: Facebook

The “VinFast Lac Hong 900 LX” has larger dimensions and weight compared to the VF 9. According to the certificate, the vehicle measures 5,342 mm in length, 2,065 mm in width, 1,687 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,349 mm and a weight of 3,035 kg. Thus, the wheelbase is approximately 200 mm longer than that of the VF 9. VinFast previously employed a similar approach when developing the President model based on the Lux SA2.0.

Additionally, the certificate confirms that this limousine offers only four seats, unlike the VF 9, which can accommodate up to seven passengers. This aligns with previously leaked interior images that showed the absence of a third row and the presence of business-class-style seats in the second row.

Furthermore, the images reveal the addition of a fixed partition between the two rows, featuring wood trim and a glass panel with a luxurious ambiance. The rear seats have also been updated with leg rests. The door buttons indicate various comfort features, including multi-directional power adjustment, deep recline, seat heating, and cooling. The climate control system is likely to be a four-zone unit, offering independent adjustments. Other distinctive elements include light-colored wood trim, a wing-shaped logo on the steering wheel, and chrome accents in a golden hue.

On the exterior, the vehicle retains the V-shaped logo but now features a wing-shaped design, prominently positioned on the front. There are speculations that this logo was crafted by a domestic company and gold-plated. Other noticeable differences include a large vertical grille at the front, lower-positioned headlights compared to the VF 9, and smaller air vents with horizontal slats on the edges of the front and rear bumpers, accented with chrome trim.

Some sources suggest that this will be a limited edition model, with a total of 62 units planned for production, including 12 bulletproof variants and 50 standard versions.

VinFast has not yet released official information about the “Lac Hong 900 LX” model. However, in addition to this limousine, VinFast has also modified the VF 9 for the traffic police force, although the changes are not as extensive as those seen in the “Lac Hong 900 LX.”
