On May 16, Team 6 of the Economic Police (Hanoi City Public Security) in collaboration with Team 17 of the Market Management Division of the Hanoi Market Management Department and the Sai Son Commune Police, Quoc Oai District, conducted a surprise inspection at two production and business facilities of Herbal Joint Stock Company Moc Can, directed by Nguyen Huu Hoan (born in 1984, residing in Quoc Oai district).

The inspection uncovered a series of serious violations related to the production, labeling, and advertising of food products.

Specifically, nearly 11,500 boxes of various food products, including tea, nut milk, and dietary supplements, were found with signs of legal violations.

According to initial findings, the company was found to be in violation of regulations by failing to notify authorities in writing about changes to their product after its announcement, incomplete labeling, and misleading claims about the product’s efficacy, implying that it could treat or cure diseases. Notably, the company also advertised and sold these products on social media platforms such as websites, TikTok, and Shopee, with exaggerated claims that deceived consumers.

These misleading claims could lead consumers to mistakenly believe they are using medication, potentially causing severe health consequences and even delaying appropriate medical treatment.

Furthermore, such practices distort the business environment and cause harm to legitimate businesses that comply with legal regulations.

The Economic Police are collaborating with Team 17 to finalize the dossier and impose administrative sanctions on the Herbal Joint Stock Company Moc Can. The total fine is expected to be nearly VND 200 million.
