In his role as a contributor to the language design team for these iconic projects, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Trieu, Deputy Director of Design at Masterise Homes, shared insights into their design philosophy, the fusion of local cultural values with global standards, and future design trends for luxury real estate in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Trieu, Deputy Director of Design at Masterise Homes
Hello Mr. Trieu, Masterise Homes has recently been recognized at one of the most prestigious design and architecture awards in the region. As a representative of the design team, could you share with us the design philosophy that underpins the award-winning projects, as well as the overall design approach that Masterise Homes is known for?
Mr. Trieu: In our project development process, we always adhere to fundamental principles that revolve around understanding and meeting the needs of our clients. We strive to create optimal living spaces that foster connections and provide meaningful, deep-rooted living experiences and values.
Ensuring that these living values are experienced in everyday life is essential. This includes safety, a sense of community, convenient essential services, human connections, and a deeper connection with one’s self and cultural heritage. Simply put, it’s about providing convenience while maintaining a high standard of living. Residents should feel a sense of harmony in their surroundings, a balance between landscape, infrastructure, and a well-connected environment that evokes a sense of sustainable living. It’s not just about the architecture or the number of amenities, but also about fostering a sense of security, belonging, and pride.

Masterise Homes emphasizes the harmony between landscape, infrastructure, and delivering meaningful, deep-rooted living experiences.
In our current portfolio, each property we develop has its own unique character and identity while adhering to four core criteria: Attention to detail, drawing inspiration from heritage to connect the past with the present and future, internationally recognized quality and value, and global recognition.
Regarding The Centric in Hai Phong, what sets this project apart and led to its recognition as the Best Architectural Design Concept in Asia? Was it a challenge to strike a balance between preserving the local “soul” and achieving international recognition?
Mr. Trieu: “Attention to detail” and “heritage inspiration” continue to be crucial factors in shaping the design style of The Centric. Masterise Homes aimed to create a distinctive mark that embodies the essence of Hai Phong, a city rich in culture and with a unique character. The cultural symbols of this port city, such as the vibrant red phoenix flowers that bloom every summer, the majestic Nui Voi mountain, and the crystal clear waters of Lan Ha Bay, have become the emotional fabric that influences the design of each space, perspective, and the rhythm of the building blocks.
The Centric is divided into four streets: East Integration, West Port Charm, South Inspiration, and North Commerce. Each area has its own distinct character and expression, resembling four shades of a transforming urban landscape. Thus, we envisioned The Centric as an iconic “Commercial-Entertainment-Cultural” hub that embodies the pride of the local community and reflects the aspirations of a dynamic Hai Phong reaching new heights.
While combining local spirit with a contemporary vibe is challenging, it also serves as a powerful source of inspiration for our design team. By distilling the essence of local culture and infusing the strong, free-spirited nature of Hai Phong into every design element, we view The Centric as a symphony of architecture, art, and local culture.
In parallel, Masterise Homes ensures that all our projects meet international standards in terms of functionality, durability, and user experience. Our developments are underpinned by a consistent philosophy: to create an international standard of living where residents find resonance between their personal values and their living spaces, between local culture and a global lifestyle. Localization is not an add-on; it is a core element in crafting a lifestyle that appeals to Vietnamese customers while remaining competitive in the most demanding global markets.
Turning to The Rivus, which recently won the award for “Best Residential Design in Asia 2025”, could you share with us the design elements that, in your opinion, elevate this project to the level of a “luxury brand”?
Mr. Trieu: I am particularly proud that every detail of the luxury villas at The Rivus has been crafted with the utmost care, resembling a fine work of art that pays homage to the heritage of the renowned fashion house, Elie Sabb. We believe that a true real estate masterpiece goes beyond excellent design; it is also about understanding and celebrating the value of the land on which it stands. At The Rivus, the architecture and planning seamlessly blend with the flow of the two major rivers that embrace the site, the Dong Nai and Tac rivers, creating a rare, riverfront luxury living standard.
Almost all the villas are directly facing the river and are surrounded by lush greenery and spacious gardens. The spaces are maximized towards the waterfront, inviting natural light and breeze to become integral parts of the residents’ daily moments.

The Rivus features Vietnam’s first branded marina, offering exclusive, privileged experiences for its residents.
The Rivus also boasts a private marina and a 760-meter-long riverside promenade, setting a new standard for luxury living where nature, architecture, and exclusive privileges intertwine to create a discreet and proud lifestyle.
What are your expectations for future design trends, and how does Masterise Homes plan to stay ahead of the curve?
Mr. Trieu: I believe that future design trends will continue to emphasize sustainability, deep personalization, humanizing experiences, cultural heritage preservation, and community-centric experiences.
This aligns with Masterise Homes’ consistent orientation: leveraging our extensive international experience to create global lifestyle standards that also embody local depth. Our projects may draw inspiration from Asian design aesthetics, but they must meet international standards in terms of quality, services, and operations. Our residents should find peace of mind in every service, attention to detail in every experience, and a sense of pride in living in a space that reflects their lifestyle and class.
Thank you, Mr. Trieu, for your insightful sharing.
