After nearly six years of absence from the e-commerce market, MWG Corporation (HOSE: MWG) has officially re-entered the game with the launch of its MWG Shop e-commerce platform on May 15, 2025. This new platform is integrated into MWG’s customer care application, Quà Tặng VIP.
MWG Shop brings together the company’s leading retail chains, including The Gioi Di Dong, Dien May Xanh, TopZone, and AVAKids, offering a wide range of products across electronics, appliances, groceries, beverages, and children’s goods. The platform’s interface resembles MWG’s retail websites, featuring an integrated search bar and displaying information on location, orders, and promotional discounts.

However, at the time of its launch, two chains from the fast-moving consumer goods and healthcare sectors, Bach Hoa Xanh and An Khang, were not yet present on the platform.
This is not MWG’s first foray into e-commerce. Previously, in 2017, the company operated the vuivui.com platform but ceased its operations in late 2018. While MWG has maintained online sales channels through individual chain websites since then, they have not had a presence on a comprehensive e-commerce platform that forms an ecosystem.
MWG’s return to the e-commerce race comes as the company’s leadership recognizes the limitations of expanding traditional retail chains further. At the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Chairman Nguyen Duc Tai emphasized that the company’s development strategy for the next phase would focus on optimizing existing distribution channels, including strengthening online activities. MWG Shop is a concrete manifestation of this orientation.
MWG’s re-entry into the e-commerce arena is notable, given the intense competition in the market from giants like Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, and TikTok Shop. Despite being relatively new, MWG has the advantage of its extensive network of stores, logistics system, and large existing customer base. The company aims to gradually regain market share and establish an effective sales channel within its retail ecosystem.
Maximizing Online Business Tax Revenue: A Robust Strategy
The tax authorities have been scrutinizing and collecting data on e-commerce business operators, warning of strict action against tax evasion and non-compliance. In the first four months of the year, tax revenues from organizations and individuals engaged in this sector amounted to VND 42.6 trillion.
Launching an Intensive Crackdown on Counterfeit Goods
In early 2025, authorities and organizations mounted a robust campaign against illicit trade and counterfeiting. Over 34,000 cases of violations were addressed, demonstrating a strong stance against such practices.
