Local Governments Begin Collecting Citizen Data for 100,000 VND Payments on September 2nd

As local authorities gear up for the National Day celebrations on September 2nd, they have initiated a unique drive to gather demographic information. This initiative is aimed at distributing gifts to the residents, with information collection playing a pivotal role in this endeavor.

In the data collection process, household heads will need to provide complete information for all household members, including full name, date of birth, personal identification number, relationship to the head of the household, and level 2 digital identification account registration status (registered or unregistered).

Previously, the Politburo agreed to give gifts to all Vietnamese citizens, with each person receiving VND 100,000 in cash to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

On the evening of August 28th, the Prime Minister issued a dispatch regarding the gift-giving to citizens on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Public Security, and the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to, based on their functions and tasks and in accordance with the Politburo’s directives, immediately review the list of gift recipients and deliver the gifts in the form of cash transfers or direct payments before September 2nd.

The Ministry of Finance, along with relevant agencies, was instructed to report to authorized agencies and allocate the necessary funds for the gifts by August 29th.

The State Bank of Vietnam was tasked with instructing relevant units and commercial banks, especially those where the State Treasury holds accounts, to ensure a smooth payment system and cash availability to facilitate timely and comprehensive gift distribution to all eligible citizens, leaving no one out and avoiding overlaps.

People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities were instructed to direct relevant agencies and units in their respective areas to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance, and the State Bank to organize the timely and safe delivery of gifts to citizens, ensuring that the process is completed as required.
