At the latest event for motorcycle enthusiasts, Chinese brand Dayang unveiled their new “rookie” scooter, the VRS125 2025. With a host of features that surpass its segment, the VRS125 is positioned as a premium offering, yet its price tag is comparable to popular models like the Honda Air Blade and Vision.

The Dayang VRS125 is offered in two variants: the Enjoyment and the Golden Sun Commemorative. They are priced at 10,999 CNY and 11,899 CNY (approximately 39.6 to 42.9 million VND), respectively.

In terms of design, the Dayang VRS125 sports a youthful and dynamic look with sharp angles, reminiscent of the Yamaha Vario and NVX. One of its standout features is the flat floorboard, a rarity in its class, which allows for more comfortable seating positions and makes it easier to carry luggage or cargo.

The Golden Sun Commemorative version stands out with its sleek matte black or café au lait color options, accented by yellow rims, a rear grab handle, and classic-style decals, resulting in a premium and unique appearance.

Despite its affordable price point, the Dayang VRS125 boasts an impressive list of features. It comes equipped with a large 5-inch TFT digital display that supports phone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, and automatically adjusts its brightness according to the time of day. All lighting on the scooter is LED, including the headlight, turn signals, and taillight.

Additionally, the VRS125 includes smart keyless ignition, a convenient USB charging port in the storage compartment, and both front and rear disc brakes with ABS and traction control (TCS) for added safety—features typically found on higher-end scooters like the Honda SH.

Performance-wise, the Dayang VRS125 is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 125cc engine with four valves, producing 14.7 horsepower and 12.5 Nm of torque. These figures surpass those of the Honda Air Blade 125 (11.2 hp) and the Vario 125 (11.5 hp). Riders can also choose between Normal and Sport riding modes for a more customizable experience.

Notably, the VRS125’s engine is based on the hybrid Vi-Core 5.0 platform, which enhances acceleration, ensures smooth starts, and reduces fuel consumption. The 10-liter fuel tank capacity is also a plus for those who travel long distances without wanting to refuel frequently.

While Dayang does not currently have an official distributor in Vietnam, the VRS125 has the potential to attract attention in the local market. With its competitive pricing and impressive features, it could be a compelling option for those seeking a feature-rich scooter at an affordable price point if it were to be imported privately, priced around 43 to 45 million VND.
