The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued a decision to adjust and supplement the 2025 land use plan in Hai Ba Trung District. This includes a project to reclaim part of the agricultural land to build the Capital Youth Park from the old QueenBee gate to the boundary of the planned area for the construction of the Hai Ba Trung District Cultural, Sports, and Physical Training Center in the northwest of the Capital Youth Park.

The Capital Youth Park project was approved by the Hanoi People’s Committee in 2000, with a scale of over 26 hectares and a total investment of over VND 280 billion. However, the exploitation process has led to the construction of a series of unauthorized structures and deviations from the plan, causing the “green lung” of the capital to fall into disrepair. Most of the violations have now been addressed.

The agricultural land to be reclaimed is located on Vo Thi Sau Street and is managed by the Dong Thanh Agricultural Cooperative.

Currently, this area is being leased for car parking, car garages, and restaurants.

The area is filled with temporary structures, creating an eyesore and detracting from the aesthetics of the street.

According to information from Hai Ba Trung District, a Land Clearance Council has been established for the above-mentioned project.

The area of land to be reclaimed is approximately 3,800 square meters.

After the land is reclaimed, Hai Ba Trung District will proceed with infrastructure improvements for the park, restoring a spacious and pleasant environment for the public.

After the agricultural land is cleared, Hai Ba Trung District will develop infrastructure connecting the park to the surrounding area, which has already been fenced and beautified.

Some restaurants on this agricultural land have already been fenced off and closed.

Given the prime location on Vo Thi Sau Street and the presence of a statue bearing the same name, Hai Ba Trung District has proposed renaming the park as Vo Thi Sau Park.

The untidy and encroached state of the footpath surrounding the area of agricultural land soon to be cleared.
