It’s been a while since Vietnam’s automotive market welcomed a new entry-level sedan, and the Skoda Slavia is the latest addition to the B-segment sedan category. This model stands out with several unique features, offering a fresh alternative in a segment long dominated by names like the Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Hyundai Accent.

As a Czech-branded vehicle assembled domestically at Hyundai Thanh Cong Viet Hung’s facility in Quang Ninh, the Skoda Slavia boasts an impressive ground clearance of 178 mm—significantly higher than most sedans and comparable to many crossovers. According to the manufacturer, this design choice caters to Vietnamese drivers who frequently navigate urban flooding or rough terrains.

Pricing is another highlight, with the Skoda Slavia available in three variants: Active (468 million VND), Ambition (528 million VND), and Style (568 million VND). During September, a 100% registration fee waiver reduces the effective price to 412–511 million VND—a competitive range against Korean and Japanese rivals.

Dam Dinh Thong, CEO of Skoda Vietnam, emphasized that the Slavia is a strategic model aimed at deepening the brand’s connection with Vietnamese consumers after three years in the market. The company also confirmed a total maintenance cost of 24.9 million VND for up to 60,000 km, dispelling concerns about European vehicles’ higher upkeep costs.

Built on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, the Slavia measures 4,541 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width, and 1,487 mm in height, with a 2,651 mm wheelbase. These dimensions slightly exceed the Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent while closely matching the Honda City.

Power comes from a 1.0 TSI turbocharged engine producing 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque, paired with either a manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Ambition 528 475 53
Style 568 511 57

The top-tier Style variant includes premium features such as LED projector headlights, automatic wipers, a sunroof, 6-way power-adjustable leather seats with cooling, paddle shifters, wireless charging, and auto-dimming mirrors. Safety highlights include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and autonomous emergency braking.

In contrast, the entry-level Active variant features fabric seats, lacks rear AC vents, uses halogen headlights, and includes a manual key.

All variants come standard with 6 airbags and tire pressure monitoring.

The Skoda Slavia joins the brand’s Vietnamese lineup alongside the Kodiaq, Karoq, and Kushaq. Representatives stated that Skoda is considering introducing additional models to expand its offerings and cater to diverse consumer preferences in Vietnam.
