On September 19th, Vietnam Prosperity Cryptocurrency Exchange Joint Stock Company (CAEX) was established with an initial charter capital of 25 billion VND. The company is headquartered at the 4th floor, Building No. 5 Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
CAEX is registered to operate in the field of providing services related to cryptocurrency assets. In its shareholder structure, VPBank Securities JSC (VPBankS) holds an 11% stake, equivalent to 2.75 billion VND. The remaining capital is contributed by LynkiD JSC with 50% and Future Land Investment LLC with 39%.
Previously, Vietnam Prosperity Bank (VPBank) announced it is finalizing procedures to participate in the pilot implementation of a cryptocurrency exchange platform.
According to VPBank, VPBank Securities JSC (VPBankS), a subsidiary of the bank, plays a leading role in their cryptocurrency asset exchange project. To execute this initiative, VPBank will mobilize blockchain experts, financial specialists, cybersecurity professionals, and top consulting firms.
During the annual meeting in April, Mr. Nguyen Duc Vinh, CEO of VPBank, stated that the cryptocurrency market is a new and significant field but carries inherent risks, requiring a legal framework and participation from well-established organizations. Mr. Vinh also revealed that the bank has analyzed and engaged with partners to prepare for entering this market.
Prior to VPBank, several organizations have made moves toward this sector. In August, MB partnered with Dunamu Group, the operator of Upbit exchange, to launch a cryptocurrency trading platform in Vietnam. Under the agreement, Dunamu will share technology, provide legal advice, support investor protection, and train personnel.
Additionally, entities within the securities industry have also invested in establishing companies in the digital asset sector.
Most recently, VIX Cryptocurrency Exchange JSC (VIXEX) was founded on August 26th with a charter capital of 1,000 billion VND. Its founding shareholders include VIX Securities JSC (15%), FTG Vietnam JSC (64.5%), and 3C Communication – Computer – Control JSC (20.5%).
Techcom Cryptocurrency Exchange JSC (TCEX), associated with Techcombank’s ecosystem, was established in May 2025. The company initially had a capital of 3 billion VND, which was quickly increased to 101 billion VND.
In reality, several companies have been preparing for this arena for years. Notably, SSI Securities established SSI Digital Technology JSC (SSI Digital – SSID) in 2022. Recently, SSID and SSI Fund Management LLC partnered with Tether, U2U Network, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to promote the development of a digital financial infrastructure ecosystem, blockchain, and cloud computing in Vietnam.
