On June 6th, the Secretariat met to consider disciplinary action against party members who had violated party rules. After reviewing the proposal by the Central Inspection Committee, the Secretariat concluded that Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan, former member of the Party Committee of Central Enterprises, former Party Secretary and Chairman of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, along with Mr. Vo Van Chanh, former Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, and Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, former Provincial Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Hau Giang Provincial People’s Council, had “degenerative thoughts, politics, morality and lifestyle”, violating party regulations and state laws in the performance of their assigned duties and responsibilities, especially in the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity.
According to the Secretariat, these individuals breached the rules that party members must abide by and failed to set a good example, causing serious consequences and negative public opinion, severely affecting the reputation of the party organizations, local governments, and the agencies and units where they worked.
Based on the content, nature, extent, and impact of the violations, the Secretariat decided to expel Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan, Mr. Vo Van Chanh, and Mr. Nguyen Van Tien from the Party.
The Secretariat also requested that functional agencies consider and implement timely administrative disciplinary measures in conjunction with party disciplinary action.
