On June 6th, the People’s Committee of Lam Dong province approved the construction project of Tan Phu – Bao Loc expressway, implemented in the form of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), opening a new chapter for the development of the newly merged Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands region.

The expressway starts at Km 59+798.33, connecting with the Dau Giay – Tan Phu expressway project in Dong Nai province, and ends at Km 125+675, intersecting with Nguyen Van Cu road in Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province. The total length of the route is 65.88km, with 11.91km passing through Dong Nai province and 53.97km through Lam Dong province.

This is an 80-grade expressway with four lanes in both the phased and completed stages. The roadbed will be 17m wide in the phased stage and will expand to 22m upon completion.

The total investment for the phased stage is over VND 18 trillion, including VND 6.5 trillion in government funding and the remaining VND 11.5 trillion from investors.

The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by the fourth quarter of 2027. The Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee serves as the authorized agency, and the Lam Dong Provincial Project Management Unit is the inviting agency. The investor proposers are a joint venture of Deo Ca Corporation, Hung Thinh Corporation, and Nam Mien Trung Corporation.

The Tan Phu – Bao Loc expressway is envisioned to become a symbol of connectivity, a solution to infrastructure bottlenecks, and a driving force for the comprehensive development of Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands region.

One of the project’s urgent goals is to reduce traffic congestion and accidents on National Highway 20, a vital route currently bearing excessive traffic loads, especially at the dangerous traffic points in the Bao Loc pass area. Additionally, the expressway will facilitate the flow of goods, attract investment and tourism, and create job opportunities for local residents.

The Tan Phu – Bao Loc expressway is a crucial piece of the trans-Central Highlands expressway axis. Earlier, in late March, Lam Dong also approved the Bao Loc – Lien Khuong expressway project (phase 1) in the form of PPP. This 73.62km-long route has a total investment of over VND 17.7 trillion, directly connecting to the end of the Tan Phu – Bao Loc expressway in Bao Loc city and terminating in Hiep Thanh commune, Duc Trong district, linking to the existing Lien Khuong – Prenn expressway.
