On June 6th, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, Tran Hong Thai, approved the construction project for the Tan Phu (Dong Nai) – Bao Loc (Lam Dong) expressway through a public-private partnership, adopting the build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract model.

The design entails a total length of 65.8 km, spanning 11.9 km in Dong Nai Province and approximately 53.9 km in Lam Dong Province. It features four lanes, with a phase separation of 17 m wide, expanding to 22 m in the completion phase, and boasts a total investment of VND 18,002 billion.

The capital structure comprises VND 6,500 billion in government funding (accounting for 36.1%) and approximately VND 11,502 billion from investors (making up 63.89%).

The project includes emergency stop areas every 4-5 km along the route, in the same direction as traffic flow. There will be three interchanges, seven bridges over the expressway for cross-traffic, and 30 pedestrian tunnels facilitating movement between both sides of the expressway.

Additionally, a rest stop is planned for Da Oai commune, Da Huoai district, Lam Dong province, located approximately midway along the Tan Phu – Bao Loc expressway.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, after completing the necessary procedures and construction, the project is expected to be operational by Q4 2027.

In the initial phase of operation, the toll for standard vehicles using the expressway will be VND 2,000 per km, with gradual increases in subsequent years. The toll collection period is set at 23 years and 9 months.
