Vietnamese Truck Titan Unveils Santa Fe-Sized SUV: Sleek Design, Hanoi to Hue on a Single Charge

According to CNC, the Avatr brand, a joint venture between Changan, Huawei, and CATL, has officially unveiled the Avatr 07 2026 mid-size SUV. This model focuses on technological advancements, enhanced user experience, and the introduction of new features.

The Avatr 07 2026 is available in six variants, priced between 219,900 and 279,900 CNY (approximately $29,000 to $37,000). Positioned in the D-segment SUV category, it competes with the Li Auto L6, Tesla Model Y, Zeekr 7X, and Luxeed R7.

The exterior of the Avatr 07 2026 retains the Future Elegance design philosophy, highlighted by distinctive daytime LED strips and 204 LED headlamps with dual-layer lighting technology. The illuminated logo and the massive 151×1,249 mm Halo interactive screen, stretching from the windshield to the hood, create a distinctly futuristic appearance.

Measuring 4,825 x 1,980 x 1,610 – 1,635 mm with a 2,940 mm wheelbase, the Avatr 07 2026 features a sporty profile with hidden door handles, electronic side mirrors, and large alloy wheels. The rear design is streamlined, offering a sleek and modern look. Additionally, Avatr introduces a new translucent green exterior color, expanding the total color options to six.

The interior of the Avatr 07 2026 is equipped with the Huawei Hongmeng Cockpit 5.0. The dashboard features a 35.4-inch 4K display and a 15.6-inch central screen, complemented by ambient lighting, premium leather upholstery, and a new stone brown color option.

Standout interior features include online streaming side mirrors, dual zero-gravity massage seats, a 25-speaker British Treasure sound system, and an optional 4-liter mini-fridge.

In terms of performance, the Avatr 07 2026 offers two powertrain options: Extended Range (EREV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The EREV variant uses a 1.5L range extender with a maximum output of 156 hp, paired with a 314 hp rear electric motor or an additional 178 hp front motor for all-wheel drive.

The 39.05 kWh battery in the EREV variant provides a pure electric range of 195 km, while the new Ningde Times Xiaoyao super hybrid battery offers a 333 km electric range, a total range of 1,200 km, and supports 5C fast charging from 30% to 80% in under 10 minutes.

The BEV variant utilizes an 800V silicon carbide platform, available in rear-wheel drive with 343 hp and all-wheel drive with 255 hp at the front and 343 hp at the rear. Both configurations use the CATL Shenxing super-charging battery with an 82.16 kWh capacity, offering ranges of 650 km (RWD) and 610 km (AWD). The battery supports up to 420 kW fast charging, significantly reducing charging times.
