
An Giang Prepares to Launch Multiple Projects for APEC 2027 Summit, Celebrating the Provincial Party Congress
According to the An Giang Provincial Electronic Information Portal, the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 – 2030, will take place on October 2-3. This is a significant political event for the Party Committee, government, and people of An Giang Province. The Congress holds special importance as the province embarks on a new era of comprehensive and sustainable development following its recent merger.
The Provincial Party Standing Committee has directed the organization of various emulation movements to celebrate the Provincial Party Congress, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress. The province has identified 10 key projects and inaugurations to mark this occasion.
Among these, 5 projects will commence in the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, including: Phu Quoc International Airport with a total investment of VND 22 trillion; DT.975 Road with VND 2.5 trillion; APEC Boulevard with VND 1.82 trillion; Cua Can Lake with VND 1.026 trillion; and the APEC Conference Center with VND 21.86 trillion.
Additionally, 4 projects will be launched in various communes and wards, such as: the bridge on the coastal road connecting An Bien – Rach Gia with VND 3.9 trillion; the ring road parallel to DT 942 in An Hoi commune with VND 149.8 billion; the circular road around Sam Mountain Cultural Park with VND 94.876 billion; and the upgrade and expansion of Huong Lo 11 Road with VND 222.393 billion. The inauguration of Phu Tho Secondary School, with a total investment of VND 72.432 billion, is also planned.
Furthermore, the Provincial Party Standing Committee has instructed the intensification of propaganda efforts to create a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere leading up to the Congress. This includes producing documentaries, opening special columns to highlight advanced models and outstanding achievements of the two provinces before the merger, and showcasing the development vision for the new term. Cultural, artistic, and sports activities are also underway, reflecting the unity, trust, and expectations of the people in the Party’s leadership.
Specific activities include the installation of clusters of panels, posters, and slogans promoting the Congress and the socio-economic, defense, security, Party building, and political system achievements from 2020-2025. The national flag will be displayed for 5 days before, during, and after the Congress (from September 30 to October 4).
A special artistic program will be broadcast live on An Giang Television at 7:00 PM on October 3 at the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts. A touring art program will be performed from September 10 to 20 in 10 remote, border, island, and revolutionary base communes and wards. The opening and closing sessions of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, will be broadcast live on television and radio.
An art photo exhibition showcasing the province’s economic, cultural, and social achievements, as well as its scenic spots, will be held for 7 days (from September 28 to October 4) in Rach Gia and Long Xuyen wards. A historical exhibition of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee through various Congresses, along with socio-economic achievements from 2020-2025 and the vision for 2025-2030, will be organized for 5 days (from October 1 to 5) at the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts.
A science and technology showcase, tourism promotion, and exhibition of export products, OCOP products, and local specialties will be held for 5 days (from October 1 to 5). A Tourism and Culinary Festival, combined with a trade promotion fair and OCOP products exhibition, will take place for 9 days (from September 27 to October 5) at Tran Quang Khai Square in Rach Gia ward.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that the projects serving APEC 2027 demonstrate the seamless collaboration between the central government and local authorities, as well as between the state and businesses. With the upcoming synchronized infrastructure system, Phu Quoc will not only be the destination for APEC 2027 but also a symbol of an innovative and creative Vietnam, striving towards the goal of becoming a developing country with a modern industrial base by 2030.

Provincial leaders have mandated an accelerated timeline to ensure timely completion of the project, while also emphasizing the need to meticulously prepare for the upcoming “Four Nations” Football Tournament. This prestigious event marks the inaugural competition to be held at the Thái Nguyên Provincial Stadium, underscoring its significance as a landmark occasion.
Suspension of Inspections for Six Major Projects in Ho Chi Minh City
The Government Inspectorate will not conduct inspections on the following projects: Thu Thiem 2 Bridge, Phu My BOT Bridge, Phu My Bridge Approach Road BT Project, BT Project for Four Major Roads in the New Thu Thiem Urban Area, Hanoi Highway and National Highway 1A Expansion Project, Infrastructure Investment Project for the Northern Residential Area (Functional Zones 3 and 4), and the Completion of the North-South Axis Road within the Thu Thiem Urban Area.
