In Lam Dong, today’s pepper prices show no variation from yesterday, holding steady at 150,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today’s pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City are at 149,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous day.
Additionally, in Dong Nai, today’s pepper prices remain consistent with yesterday, ranging between 147,000 and 149,000 VND/kg.
On the global market, the latest pepper prices as of September 23 show no new changes.
Specifically, the price of Lampung black pepper in Indonesia remains at $7,027 per ton. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper is holding steady at $9,957 per ton.
In Malaysia, Kuching ASTA black pepper is priced at $9,700 per ton, while ASTA white pepper from the same country is at $12,900 per ton.
For Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at $6,600 per ton.
In Vietnam, 500 g/l black pepper is trading at $6,600 per ton, while 550 g/l black pepper reaches $6,800 per ton. White pepper is priced at $9,250 per ton.
In Indonesia, the pepper harvest has begun in Lampung and surrounding provinces, though this year’s yield is expected to decline due to heavy rainfall earlier in the year. Harvesting activities in South Sumatra and Bengkulu are anticipated to increase over the next few weeks.
In the first quarter of this year, Indonesia’s pepper exports recorded a 54.2% increase compared to the same period last year, primarily driven by strong demand from Vietnam and China. However, since March, pepper exports have fallen below 2024 levels.
According to data from Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in July, pepper exports reached 1,929 tons, a 2.1% decrease from the previous month and a 43.5% drop from the same period last year, marking the lowest export volume since January 2024. By the end of July, Indonesia’s total pepper exports reached 22,456 tons, valued at $149.6 million, reflecting a 1.6% decrease in volume but a 34.6% increase in value compared to the same period last year.

In the weekly review, pepper prices saw an average decrease of 1,000 VND per kilogram, stabilizing within the range of 147,000 to 150,000 VND per kilogram.
