Recently, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Sơn, the founder of Sơn Kim Group, shared on her personal page a story about the educational direction in the group’s real estate projects.
According to Mrs. Sơn, her son, businessman Nguyễn Hoàng Tuấn, Chairman of Sơn Kim Group, stated: “Our new urban area projects in An Khánh and Long Bình wards (Ho Chi Minh City) allocate land for school construction to serve residents.”
As an educator with many years of experience in the field, Mrs. Sơn expressed her enthusiasm for this direction.
She believes that the group has a practical foundation in Architecture, Construction, Trade, and Retail, while she maintains close relationships with many lecturers and scientists from Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, and Public Service Management schools. “Establishing Sơn Kim University with these trending fields would be fantastic,” the founder of Sơn Kim Group hopes.
However, after consulting with experts, she gained further insights into the re-planning of universities following the merger of provinces and cities. Additionally, the Education Law is undergoing significant changes, requiring more time.
In her post, Mrs. Sơn recounted her son’s words: “Let us focus on developing the Duy Tân International Primary and Secondary School System in An Khánh and Long Bình wards (The 9 Stellars), connecting with Duy Tân Secondary and High School in Hòa Hưng Ward, District 10, which has been a reputable institution for over 20 years. Our primary goal is to serve the children of residents effectively.”
Mrs. Sơn shared that the dream of “Sơn Kim University” might have to be put on hold. However, she is delighted that the Duy Tân preschool, primary, secondary, and high school system will be significantly expanded, closely linked with Sơn Kim Land’s new urban areas.

Sơn Kim is one of Vietnam’s oldest business families, with a history spanning over 70 years across three generations. The driving force behind the group’s success is Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Sơn, the founder of Sơn Kim Group, often referred to as a “powerhouse” in Vietnam’s business world.
Sơn Kim Group has made its mark in various sectors, including real estate, fashion, and retail, with a clear focus on the high-end segment. In the real estate sector, Sơn Kim Land has chosen a unique path: developing “limited edition luxury boutique properties,” primarily in Ho Chi Minh City.
To date, the group has launched several notable projects, including The 9 Stellars, The Metropole Thủ Thiêm, The Nassim, Gateway Thảo Điền, and Serenity Sky Villas (45 detached villas in the city center). Among these, The Metropole Thủ Thiêm stands out, with apartments in The OpusK Residence ranging from 30 to 100 billion VND, depending on size and number of bedrooms.

The Chairman of Sơn Kim Group’s announcement has garnered attention for its plan to develop the Duy Tân International Primary and Secondary School System within The 9 Stellars project, a large-scale urban area developed by Sơn Kim Land in Long Bình Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
The 9 Stellars is positioned as a high-end complex, featuring apartments, shophouses, and villas. Located near Metro Line 1 (Bến Thành – Suối Tiên) and the new Eastern Bus Station, it spans 16.5 hectares with a total investment of over 6,200 billion VND.
Currently, apartments at The 9 Stellars are priced at around 80 million VND per square meter, while villas range from 140 to 165 million VND per square meter, equivalent to approximately 23 to 50 billion VND, depending on size.
Alongside real estate, education is increasingly becoming a key focus for Sơn Kim as an “extended arm” within its ecosystem.
Since 2005, Mrs. Sơn has established the Southeast Asian Education Development Investment Corporation (Seaedi Corp), and through this company, invested in Duy Tân School in 2007. She currently serves as the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Duy Tân Secondary and High School in Ho Chi Minh City.
Not limited to Vietnam, Seaedi Corp has expanded internationally. In 2010, the company began investing in the state of Delaware (USA), and by 2017, it further invested in a school in Boston, Massachusetts, focusing on supporting students studying abroad in business and housing.
Boston is the very school where Mrs. Sơn’s grandchildren, Nguyễn Hoàng Việt and Nguyễn Khánh Linh, studied with an annual tuition fee of approximately 78,000 USD.
Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Sơn’s story highlights a clear trend in the real estate market: developers are not only building residential projects but also focusing on social infrastructure development, including school systems. This approach both enhances project value and contributes to building a sustainable resident community.
Major real estate developers like Vingroup, Ecopark, and Nam Cường are also emphasizing the “closed urban area” model with integrated school systems.
