Recent allegations against several CP Vietnam facilities for selling diseased pork have sparked significant public concern. While many retailers have temporarily halted purchases or stopped selling CP-branded pork pending conclusions from authorities, Bach Hoa Xanh continues to sell these products. This move has raised questions among consumers about the reasons and basis for this decision. In response to these concerns, Bach Hoa Xanh has issued an official statement.
Bach Hoa Xanh’s Response to Continuing CP Pork Sales
Specifically, a representative from the Bach Hoa Xanh (BHX) system stated that they are awaiting investigation results from the police. Prior to this, immediately after receiving the reports, the unit proactively contacted CP Vietnam for clarification.

CP Vietnam has provided a written commitment to BHX regarding the quality of the pork supplied to their system. During the investigation by the authorities, BHX is closely monitoring the situation and enhancing product quality control, including testing and sampling pork upon entry to their warehouses to facilitate timely handling.
“During our collaboration, if any violations are discovered on the supplier’s part, BHX pledges to take immediate action. The products will be recalled and the partnership terminated, and BHX will cooperate with state agencies to address the violations to protect consumers’ rights and health,” the BHX representative stated.
Currently, Bach Hoa Xanh continues to sell CP pork products while implementing internal control measures to ensure food safety.
Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Jointly Investigate
On June 4th, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment sent an official document to the Ministry of Public Security, requesting an investigation and verification of information circulating on social media regarding CP Vietnam’s alleged sale of diseased pork, as well as strict handling of any violating organizations or individuals.
According to the document, on May 30, 2025, a post from the Jonny Lieu account (with 29,000 followers) on social media accused the leadership of CP Vietnam of several serious violations. The post specifically mentioned that the CP Fresh Shop My Xuyen store in My Xuyen town, My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province, was alleged to frequently mix diseased pigs and chickens, and even putrid meat fragments, into the local market.
Subsequently, the Environmental Police Department (C05 – Ministry of Public Security) coordinated with the Veterinary Bureau and related agencies to inspect CP facilities in Soc Trang and Hau Giang provinces.
According to the initial report, the pork samples collected from the scene tested negative for diseases such as African swine fever, classical swine fever, and PRRS. Additionally, the competent authorities did not detect any abnormal sensory indicators in the meat samples collected. However, the inspection team noted some procedural shortcomings, such as expired food safety certificates or lack of training certificates.

Currently, the Ministry of Public Security is coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to investigate and handle the case of CP Vietnam being accused of selling contaminated pork.
This information was confirmed by a representative of the Department of Livestock, Animal Health, and Fisheries of Hau Giang province to VTC News on June 8th.
“The two ministries have started working independently, and the provincial units will coordinate as they require,” the representative said.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) stated that it would continue to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Public Security to clarify the entire content of the reflection. The case is currently under investigation. During this time, some distribution systems such as WinCommerce (WinMart), MM Mega Market, Satra, Tops Market, and Kingfoodmart have temporarily stopped purchasing or reduced the sales of CP-branded pork products.
