Metro Line 2 (Nam Thang Long – Tran Hung Dao) is designed with 10 stations, including 7 underground and 3 elevated stations, traversing multiple central areas of the capital city.

The line has a total investment of nearly VND 35.6 trillion, spanning 11.5 km, with 8.9 km underground and 2.6 km elevated.

Notably, Metro Line 2 is considered an infrastructure catalyst that increases property values, especially in areas with metro stations. According to Savills, buyers are willing to pay an additional 15% for properties near metro lines. In Hanoi, after the operation of Metro Line 2A (Cat Linh – Ha Dong) and Metro Line 3 (Cau Giay – Nhon), property prices within a 500-meter radius increased by over 40% within a year, surpassing the average increase of 25-35% in areas farther from metro lines.

The starting station is located in Nam Thang Long urban area, home to high-end projects like Sunshine Riverside and Sunshine City. This area is densely populated with high-end residents who primarily commute via Vo Chi Cong – Nhat Tan Bridge, which is often congested. The metro will provide a swift transportation solution and enhance the value of real estate projects in the area.

Ngoai Giao Doan Station is situated within the Ngoai Giao Doan urban area, directly connecting to Starlake Tay Ho Tay. This area is home to numerous diplomatic missions, international schools, and a growing resident population. The metro will not only alleviate traffic congestion but also boost the value of high-end apartment projects under development.

Tay Ho Tay Station is another highlight, located in the heart of Starlake urban area. This area is emerging as a new urban axis with large-scale office and commercial buildings. In the future, Metro Line 2 will enhance connectivity to the city center and stimulate the real estate market around this station.

Buoi Station is near the Hoang Quoc Viet – Buoi intersection, an area with numerous universities, research institutes, and hospitals, often experiencing traffic congestion. From this station, Metro Line 2 begins its underground segment, offering a convenient travel option for residents and increasing the appeal of housing projects in Nghia Do and MHDI.

Quan Ngua Station is adjacent to Quan Ngua Sports Complex. The metro will alleviate traffic congestion in this narrow area and open up opportunities for real estate along Lieu Giai – Van Cao axis. Notably, this station will also connect with Van Cao Station on Metro Line 5, enhancing inter-line connectivity.

Nearby is Bach Thao Station on Thuy Khue Street, opposite Bach Thao Park, close to Ba Dinh Square and Ho Chi Minh Museum. This area is rich in historical, cultural, and tourist value. Adjacent is Ho Tay Station, serving a densely populated residential area. These two stations will enhance connectivity for both residents and tourists, reduce traffic around the lake, and stimulate the real estate, service, and rental markets around Thuy Khue – Ho Tay.

In the city center, Hang Dau Station serves as a gateway connecting the Old Quarter with Ba Dinh District. Located near Long Bien Bridge and a major traffic axis, this station will cater to the travel needs of Old Quarter residents and expand opportunities for commercial townhouses, which already hold high value.

Ho Hoan Kiem Station is constructed underground on Dinh Tien Hoang Street, near Hoan Kiem Lake Park, adjacent to the Hanoi People’s Council and Committee headquarters. The station has 4 levels, covering approximately 7,703 m², and is designed to handle large passenger volumes, promising a significant boost to commercial real estate and tourism services around the lake.

The final station, Tran Hung Dao, is located at the Hang Bai – Tran Hung Dao intersection, designed to connect with Metro Line 3 in the future. This will be a strategic transportation hub, facilitating inter-line travel. Situated in the financial and commercial center, Tran Hung Dao Station is expected to drive robust development in the office and retail real estate market in the Cua Nam – Hoan Kiem area.

According to the design, Metro Line 2 will run underground with two parallel tunnels, switching to a stacked configuration from Hang Duong to Hang Chieu Streets. It will pass through Hang Duong, Hang Ngang, Hang Dao Streets, Hoan Kiem Lake area, and continue along Dinh Tien Hoang – Hang Bai axis before connecting to Tran Hung Dao.

This is one of the 10 urban railway lines planned by 2030, with a vision to 2050, totaling over 410 km in length. Once operational, Metro Line 2 will facilitate easy access to the city center, reduce congestion on existing roads, and provide a significant boost to real estate along the route.
