Hue Invites Investment in Two New Industrial Parks and a 500+ Hectare Duty-Free Zone at Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone

The Management Board of the Economic and Industrial Zones of Thua Thien Hue Province is set to invite interest in two investment projects for the construction and operation of infrastructure in industrial zones and duty-free areas, spanning over 506 hectares with a total investment capital of 3.778 trillion VND.

Specifically, the Chan May Industrial Zone and Duty-Free Zone No. 01 spans 238.5 hectares with a total investment of over 1.452 trillion VND. Meanwhile, the Chan May Industrial Zone and Duty-Free Zone No. 02 covers 267.6 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 2.326 trillion VND.

Both projects are located in Chan May – Lang Co Commune. Construction and operation must be completed within 24 months from the land lease agreement and handover. At the time of application, investors must prove a minimum equity of 15% of the total investment.

Also within the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone, the Management Board of Thua Thien Hue Economic and Industrial Zones invites interest in the investment project for infrastructure development and operation of Industrial Zone No. 02, covering 204 hectares. The total investment is 1.845 trillion VND, with a 36-month implementation period.

Hue Seeks 1.8 Trillion VND Investment for Industrial Zone in Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone

The Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone spans approximately 27,108 hectares, featuring five main functional areas: port, industrial zone, duty-free zone, urban area, and tourism zone. The Chan May Duty-Free Zone (including its expansion) covers over 1,158 hectares, directly linked to the Chan May deep-water port via two road routes: the port access road and the coastal road.

Key functions of the duty-free zone include a high-tech park, clean industrial zone, commercial service center, offices, duty-free shops; manufacturing, recycling, repair, assembly, import-export, transit, temporary import-re-export, and distribution; cargo transit and bonded warehousing.

On the afternoon of September 30th, the Management Board of Hue City’s Economic and Industrial Zones, alongside Chan May – Lang Co Commune authorities, announced adjustments to the detailed planning of the Chan May Duty-Free Zone, as approved in the revised master plan for the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone until 2045.

The goal is to maximize the region’s advantages, ensure synchronized infrastructure connectivity with the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone and surrounding areas, optimize land use, and create a sustainable architectural and landscape design.

Upon completion, this area will serve as an integrated hub for duty-free commercial services, export processing, and high-tech industries within the Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone. It will also function as a logistics center, facilitating maritime economic and transportation activities with domestic and global regions.
