On the morning of October 1st, a 15-meter section of the Vinh Riverbank in Truong Vinh Ward (Nghe An Province) unexpectedly collapsed. This caused the river water to rise rapidly, flooding nearby urban areas and submerging several low-lying roads and neighborhoods.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 7 AM. Mr. Nguyen Tat Son, Chairman of Truong Vinh Ward People’s Committee, stated that local authorities immediately mobilized police, civil defense forces, and specialized provincial units to the scene following the collapse.
“We’re currently focusing on temporary repairs and warning residents to avoid the hazardous area,” Mr. Son explained.
Emergency teams are urgently assessing the damage and deploying machinery and materials for immediate repairs.
