In Ho Chi Minh City, after over a month of continuous construction, the Binh Trieu 1 Bridge has officially completed its clearance height elevation, marking a significant milestone toward restoring the bridge’s service to the public.

The Binh Trieu 1 Bridge span has been raised by 1.08 meters, achieving the standard clearance height of 7 meters.
On-site observations reveal that the bridge span has been elevated by an additional 1.08 meters, meeting the designed clearance height of 7 meters. The construction utilized a hydraulic lifting system alongside hundreds of steel shims, with precision down to the millimeter to ensure the balance of the entire structure, weighing thousands of tons.
Throughout the process, engineers and workers were on 24/7 duty at the bridge piers, taking turns operating the lifts and adding shims. Every detail was closely monitored to ensure safety.
Beneath the bridge, layers of steel supports created a space of quiet tension, where each lift was meticulously calculated.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Head of Infrastructure Management Department 2 (Center for Road Infrastructure Management, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction), along with the contractor, was on-site to inspect progress and the structural integrity post-elevation. He stated that the project has entered its final phase, which includes installing the cap beam, securing the bridge span to the supports, and completing the road surface for normal vehicle traffic by the end of November.
A worker on the project shared that the construction team has been working day and night to expedite the process and restore traffic flow for residents as soon as possible. Currently, traffic around the bridge is significantly impacted, but it is expected to stabilize upon project completion.
Immediately after finishing the Binh Trieu 1 Bridge, the construction unit will relocate all equipment and personnel to the Binh Phuoc 1 Bridge clearance height elevation project on National Highway 1. According to the investor, traffic diversion in this area is anticipated to be smoother due to its less complex intersection compared to Binh Trieu.

Concurrently, the contractor is also smoothing the elevation connections at the intersections between the bridge and the old road surface. The work is carried out alternately by lane to maintain progress without disrupting traffic.
