On October 1st, speaking at the National Innovation Policy Forum – Innovation Day 2025, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Khoa, CEO of FPT, emphasized that innovation is not just a slogan but a valuable intangible asset, the “lifeblood of development,” and the underlying force driving resolutions and policies into practical action.
According to him, the spirit of innovation must become the DNA of the entire economy. “Without innovation, businesses cannot thrive. It must permeate culture, not only at the national level but also in every business activity and daily task of employees,” Mr. Khoa stated.
Policy Recommendations for Substantive Innovation
Drawing from practical implementation, the CEO of FPT proposed five key recommendations. First, there is an urgent need to refine the legal framework, particularly in emerging fields such as AI, digital transformation, logistics, and high technology. Second, all resolutions and policies should include specific, flexible implementation guidelines aligned with business realities.
He also urged greater attention to foundational industries like manufacturing, production, and mechanics, as these are the sectors most in need of innovation. Additionally, he cautioned against the haphazard establishment of innovation centers by local governments without a clear strategy, leading to resource fragmentation. Mr. Khoa suggested that the Ministry of Science and Technology develop a “strategic technology map” based on local strengths to facilitate effective collaboration and investment among research institutions, universities, and businesses.
Furthermore, he highlighted the role of large enterprises in leading smaller ones within the innovation ecosystem, from resources and technology to strategic thinking. On the international stage, he believes Vietnam has the potential to become a technology innovation hub in Asia by leveraging AI, data, and its young workforce.
Corporate Commitment to Collaboration
As a technology company, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Khoa affirmed that FPT is committed to partnering with the government and other businesses to build a robust innovation ecosystem. He underscored the importance of international cooperation, citing the agreement signed with Konica Minolta and NIC to develop AI technology in healthcare during the event.
“We have all the necessary conditions: legal frameworks, human resources, and technology. With determination and appropriate mechanisms, Vietnam can undoubtedly become a leading technology innovation center in Asia,” Mr. Khoa concluded.
