The Kon Plông Wind Power Plant project was granted an Investment Policy Approval Decision by the People’s Committee of Kon Tum Province (former) in 2021, with Kon Plông Wind Energy LLC as the approved investor.

Spanning approximately 66 hectares, the project features 25 wind turbine towers with a designed capacity of 103.5 MW and a total investment of VND 3.5 trillion. The implementation timeline is set from July 2021 to April 2023.

The project has been included in the adjusted Power Master Plan VIII, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 768/QĐ-TTg dated April 15, 2025, and by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Decision No. 1509/QĐ-BCT dated April 15, 2025, with an operational phase from 2025 to 2030.

During the meeting, the investor pledged to expedite project implementation and requested the province to adjust the Investment Policy Approval Decision and the Investment Registration Certificate related to investment laws and sectoral planning (electricity) to facilitate subsequent steps.

Mr. Trần Phước Hiền, Vice Chairman of Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee, affirmed the province’s commitment to supporting investors determined to accelerate project implementation, including the Kon Plông Wind Power Plant, to contribute to local socio-economic development.

Regarding the investor’s proposals, the Vice Chairman directed relevant departments, agencies, and localities to promptly review and provide feedback on the adjustment dossier. He also urged addressing bottlenecks to help the investor complete related legal procedures. The Department of Finance will consolidate and review these inputs to advise the Provincial People’s Committee on project adjustments in compliance with the law.

Mr. Trần Phước Hiền requested the investor to urgently identify on-site locations for wind turbine towers, substations, and connection lines, ensuring alignment with planning requirements. He also urged proactive collaboration with relevant agencies and localities to finalize legal procedures and establish a detailed work schedule to accelerate project implementation as committed.
