Electric motorcycle battery-swapping technology is revolutionizing the industry, eliminating the biggest barrier for electric vehicle users: charging time. With a network of battery-swapping stations, a full battery is just minutes away, offering convenience and flexibility comparable to gasoline vehicles.

In Vietnam, this race is witnessing the participation of numerous brands, creating a diverse ecosystem catering to both personal and professional transportation needs.

Selex Camel & Camel 2

Selex Motors is a pioneer in Vietnam’s battery-swapping model, focusing on solutions for logistics and delivery services. The Camel and Camel 2 duo are designed for heavy loads and durability.

These models impress with a remarkable carrying capacity of up to 225 kg, 1.5 times that of conventional gasoline bikes. Both are equipped with three lithium-ion batteries, allowing for a maximum range of 150 km per swap. They also feature practical amenities like reverse gear and a detachable rear seat.

According to the manufacturer, the bikes meet the IP67 water resistance standard, capable of withstanding submersion in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

Selex boasts an extensive battery-swapping network, particularly in major cities. Their batteries are also compatible with some other brands, creating a convenient ecosystem.

The Camel is priced at approximately 27.8 million VND, while the Camel 2 is around 28.8 million VND (excluding battery rental fees).

Selex Camel & Camel 2 are ideal for delivery drivers, shippers, small logistics businesses, and users requiring high load capacity and continuous travel.

Unlike Honda or VinFast, Selex Motors customers must pay additional battery rental fees. Battery-swapping services start at 135,000 VND/month, while self-charging battery rentals range from 108,000 VND to 1.18 million VND/month.

Honda ICON e: and CUV e:

Honda’s entry into the battery-swapping electric motorcycle market is a positive sign, indicating the model’s standardization.

The ICON e: is Honda’s first electric motorcycle produced and assembled in Vietnam with removable batteries. Its compact, modern design makes it ideal for students, urban commuters, and easy handling.

In addition to outright sales, Honda offers battery rental options (unlimited mileage), reducing the initial cost to just 26.9-27.3 million VND.

Unlike the ICON e:, the CUV e: is only available for rent at approximately 1.5 million VND/month.

The Honda CUV e: uses two Honda Mobile Power Pack e: (MPP) batteries, which are removable and can be charged externally. Charging from 0-100% takes about 6 hours.

Honda Vietnam has stated that users can swap batteries at authorized dealerships (HEAD). Currently, battery-swapping is available at 19 HEAD locations, free of charge for electric motorcycle users.

VinFast Models

In October 2025, VinFast will launch battery-swapping electric motorcycles such as the Evo Max (20 million VND), Feliz Max (24.9 million VND), Verox Max (33.9 million VND), and Drift Max (39.9 million VND). Each model targets a different customer segment.

This policy has immediately gained widespread support from users.

In October 2025, VinFast will deploy its first 1,000 battery-swapping stations, with an ambitious goal of installing 50,000 stations by year-end and completing the entire network within three years.

With a network significantly larger than the current gas station system, VinFast ensures absolute energy security for electric vehicle users. Additionally, quick battery swaps at stations guarantee speed and convenience for riders.

VinFast’s battery-swapping electric motorcycles offer the same features as their battery-included counterparts. The only difference is a dual-compartment design for easy battery removal and replacement at public stations. Each battery has a capacity of 1.5 kWh.

Customers can rent one or two batteries based on their needs, at 200,000 VND/battery/month. Swapping fees are just 9,000 VND/swap (including charging costs). With a maximum range of 85 km/battery/charge (under standard conditions), energy costs for electric motorcycles are significantly lower than gasoline expenses for the same distance.
