Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, CEO of Vietjet (right) and Mr. Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Senior Vice President, Commercial Aircraft (left) signed a deal for 100 new A321neo aircraft.

The A321neo is the largest variant of the A320neo single-aisle aircraft family. With its new-generation engines and Sharklets wingtips, the A321neo reduces noise by 50%, fuel burn by over 20%, and COâ‚‚ emissions, while maximizing passenger comfort with the widest cabin in its class.

The A321neo can operate on a maximum of 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and aims to increase SAF usage to 100% by 2030.

This order follows the agreement for an additional 20 wide-body A330neo aircraft signed last month, bringing the total to 40, enabling the airline to boost operations on high-demand routes across the Asia-Pacific region and debut new long-haul services to Europe in the future.

Vietjet currently operates over 120 aircraft and has ordered more than 400. The airline is actively expanding its network, developing its fleet, and partnering with strategic partner Airbus in the coming years.

Vietjet’s Chairwoman, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, shared: “I have a dream and am ready to act to contribute to making Vietnam an aviation hub in the region in terms of passenger transportation, technical services, logistics, training and research, global supply chains, aviation infrastructure… and surely we will continue to develop a powerful fleet.”

Mr. Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Senior Vice President, Commercial Aircraft, said: “The A321neo and A330neo will provide the perfect platform for Vietjet to further expand its operations and efficiently serve its entire network. Furthermore, the airline will benefit from the high level of commonality, which is unique to Airbus’ latest generation aircraft families.”
