The Da Nang People’s Committee has recently approved a project to construct a road connecting the Western Ring Road to the La Son – Tuy Loan Expressway (behind the High-Tech Park), with a total investment of over 1.6 trillion VND.

The new road will connect the Western Ring Road to the La Son – Tuy Loan Expressway in Da Nang.

The project will be implemented in Ba Na Commune and Lien Chieu Ward, with a timeline from 2025 to 2028.

Specifically, the road will start at the intersection with the Western Ring Road in Ba Na Commune and end at the junction with the Nam Hai Van Tunnel – Tuy Loan branch (in Lien Chieu Ward, Da Nang City).

The construction scope includes: an urban main road according to QCVN 07-4:2023/BXD, with a design speed of 60 km/h; high-grade A1 road surface; a design axle load of 100 kN, and HL93 standard structures along the route.

This investment will significantly enhance Da Nang’s transportation network as outlined in the city’s master plan for 2030, with a vision toward 2045. It will complete the high-quality ring road system in the southern and western parts of the city, facilitating intra-city and inter-city travel, and connecting key economic zones in Da Nang.

The project will also maximize the efficiency of major infrastructure investments by linking the Concentrated Information Technology Zone, High-Tech Park, and Hoa Ninh Industrial Zone with the city’s main transportation arteries. This will meet future transportation demands, particularly for freight movement between Lien Chieu Port and the southern and western areas of the city.

Additionally, the project will establish a bypass for National Highway 1 through the city’s urban area, replacing the upgraded and expanded Nam Hai Van Tunnel bypass (Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan section) as a new expressway. This will help alleviate traffic congestion on central routes, especially during peak hours, and reduce traffic accidents.
