The Da Nang City People’s Committee has issued Decision No. 1797/QD-UBND, approving the project for the road connecting the Western Ring Road to the La Son – Tuy Loan Expressway (behind the High-Tech Park).

With a total investment of over 1.6 trillion VND, the project is scheduled to be implemented from 2025 to 2028. It will be developed in Ba Na Commune and Lien Chieu Ward.

The road starts at the intersection with the Western Ring Road in Ba Na Commune and ends at the junction with the Tuy Loan branch of the Nam Hai Van Tunnel in Lien Chieu Ward, Da Nang City.

The construction scope includes an urban arterial road compliant with QCVN 07-4:2023/BXD standards, a design speed of 60 km/h, a high-grade A1 road surface, a design axle load of 100 kN, and HL93-standard structures.

This project will contribute to completing Da Nang’s primary transportation network as outlined in the city’s master plan for 2030, with a vision toward 2045. It will also finalize the high-quality ring road system in the southern and western parts of the city, catering to intra-city and inter-city travel needs while connecting key economic zones in Da Nang.

Additionally, the project will maximize the efficiency of major investments by linking the Concentrated Information Technology Zone, High-Tech Park, and Hoa Ninh Industrial Zone with the city’s main transportation axes. This will meet future transportation demands, particularly for freight movement between Lien Chieu Port and the southern and western areas of the city.

Furthermore, the project will establish a bypass for National Highway 1 through the city’s urban area, replacing the upgraded and expanded Nam Hai Van Tunnel bypass (Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan section) as an expressway. This will help alleviate traffic congestion on central routes, especially during peak hours, and reduce traffic accidents.
