The Xuan Dinh Depot, covering 11.3 hectares, serves as the central hub for maintenance, repairs, and operational training. It is also being developed as Hanoi’s first pilot Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) site, integrating a transit hub with commercial services, mixed-use housing, and creating a new growth pole in the city’s north. Under the TOD model, each station will become a vibrant center for transportation, commerce, tourism, and culture.
Notably, the underground station C9 – Hoan Kiem Lake comprises four levels, directly connecting to the three-level underground space of the Eastern Square and Park. It is envisioned as a central TOD model, seamlessly blending underground transportation, public spaces, and urban heritage.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman Duong Duc Tuan emphasized that Metro Line No. 2, Nam Thang Long – Tran Hung Dao section, will serve as the “green lifeline” of the capital, linking the historical and cultural values of Thang Long – Hanoi with the dynamic pace of modern life.
Mr. Tuan urged relevant departments, local authorities, and investors to collaborate closely. He also called on investors and contractors to concentrate resources, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant construction while minimizing traffic disruptions around the project sites.
