On October 10th, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, in collaboration with the Project Management Unit for Civil and Industrial Construction, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Palace project.
Located at lot 5-2, functional area No. 5, An Khanh Ward, this project is one of the key initiatives launched in October to commemorate the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
The project is led by the Ho Chi Minh City Project Management Unit for Civil and Industrial Construction, with a total investment of over VND 1,124 billion funded by the city’s budget.
The Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Palace will feature one basement level and 10 above-ground floors, covering a total floor area of more than 38,000 m². Completion is expected by the end of 2028. The basement will house a parking area, multi-purpose auditorium, stage, storage, technical rooms, and restrooms. The ground floor will include a communal lobby, multi-purpose auditorium, a 1,000-seat sports hall, exhibition and event spaces, dining areas, and technical facilities.
Upper floors will feature a cinema, library, swimming pool, STEM and robotics labs, martial arts and chess classes, music and recording studios, art and sculpture workshops, beauty and performing arts spaces (dance, fashion, theater, acrobatics), a literary and space exploration area, a Thu Thiem and District 1 model exhibition zone, and a restaurant.
The design seamlessly blends modern indoor spaces with lush outdoor landscapes. Highlights include a Water Plaza and a 1,308-seat outdoor amphitheater with a canopy, featuring a stage area of over 1,200 m². This space will host artistic programs and community activities for children and families. Notably, the project incorporates a smart Building Management System (BMS) for synchronized monitoring and management of technical components, ensuring safety and energy efficiency.
