Pacific Group’s Commitment to Setting a Benchmark with its Expressway Projects

On the afternoon of June 26, in Shanghai, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Mr. Yan Jiehe, Chairman of the Pacific Construction Group, and its senior executives.

At the meeting, Mr. Yan Jiehe informed that the Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hanoi People’s Committee on investing and building infrastructure in the next five years with a scale of billions of USD. The Group is currently involved in infrastructure projects in Vietnam, including the construction of the Tu Lien Bridge in Hanoi, which was inaugurated after the previous meeting with the Prime Minister in China.

He also reported on the investment and operation of the Group in Vietnam and proposed to participate in other key projects, especially expressway projects, with a commitment to setting a benchmark by reducing the completion time by half compared to the planned schedule.

Welcoming Mr. Yan Jiehe’s proposals, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh appreciated the effective and sustainable investment and business activities of the Pacific Construction Group globally and in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister suggested that the Group continue to perform well and expedite the completion of the ongoing projects. He also proposed that the Group consider participating in the implementation of other major infrastructure projects, such as the road connecting Gia Binh Airport to the center of Hanoi, the Ngoc Hoi Bridge, and the Van Cao – Hoa Lac urban railway (Hanoi). The Prime Minister also suggested the Group engage in public-private partnerships for the expansion of the North-South expressway, as well as port, airport, railway, and urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, including metro lines, particularly the metro line connecting Long Thanh Airport to Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Earlier, on the morning of May 19, the Hanoi People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Tu Lien Bridge and road construction project, with a total investment of VND 20,171 billion, expected to be completed in 2027.

The approach road at the Nghi Tam end is 48 meters wide, while the road at the Dong Anh end is 60 meters wide. The main Tu Lien Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with a width of 43 meters (consisting of a 500-meter steel truss main span and a 185-meter high tower), using cantilever and steel construction methods. The project also includes two intersections with Nghi Tam and Truong Sa roads, tunnels, and other technical infrastructure, sidewalks, lighting, architectural lighting, and greenery…

With its unique cable-stayed design, featuring two cable planes, a large main span length, and tower height, the Tu Lien Bridge will become a new architectural landmark in Hanoi when completed in 2027.

According to the Hanoi Transport Project Management Unit, six domestic and foreign construction companies are involved in this key project, notably Vingroup and the Pacific Construction Group (China).

The Pacific Construction Group (CPCG) is recognized as a world-leading private enterprise in the field of engineering and construction. In 2023, the Group achieved a revenue of 79.478 billion USD and a profit of 5.188 billion USD.

In the transportation sector, the Group has obtained a Grade 1 certificate from China for general contracting in the construction of expressways, urban areas, water conservancy projects, and architectural engineering, among other fields. The Group currently operates approximately 3,000 industrial parks and urban projects across China.

The enterprise pioneered the BT investment model and has been involved in the construction of over 1,000 cities and 3,000 industrial parks in China and many other countries worldwide through BT, BTO, EPC, and PPP contracts.

The Pacific Construction Group has also directly participated in major transportation projects such as Shanghai-Nanjing, Shanghai-Zhuhai, and Beijing-Shanghai, as well as other key national projects in China. In each project, CPCG has left a strong impression by prioritizing construction speed and quality.

In Vietnam, the Pacific Construction Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hanoi People’s Committee, the Hanoi Department of Transportation, focusing on researching and investing in key projects in the city, particularly the Tu Lien Bridge and the road connecting the bridge to the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway.
