The Northwest New Urban Area project in Bac Ninh City has become a focal point over the past year, with significant developments involving Vingroup. In November 2024, Vingroup proposed the investment. Subsequently, in early 2025, the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee approved the investment policy. This rapid progression underscores the project’s momentum.

By mid-May, the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee approved the selection of the investor consortium led by Vingroup. By September, the investor completed the listing and public consultation for the 1/500 detailed planning. The Kinh Bac Ward authorities held meetings with residents to announce land acquisition, highlighting the project’s swift implementation.

With a total investment of over VND 41 trillion and an area of 277 hectares, the project boasts a strategic location. It is just 5 km from Bac Ninh City Center, 50 km from Hanoi, and offers convenient access to Hai Phong, making it a key transportation hub.

Within a 30-minute drive, the project is surrounded by major industrial zones such as Yen Phong, Que Vo 1, and Quang Chau. This proximity allows the project to cater to the housing needs of thousands of professionals, entrepreneurs, engineers, and workers.

The project is strategically located near the Hanoi – Bac Giang Expressway and the Capital Region’s Ring Road 4, vital transportation arteries. Additionally, it is less than an hour’s drive from Gia Binh Airport and Noi Bai International Airport, enhancing its connectivity.

The urban area is designed following Vinhomes’ exclusive “all-in-one” model, seamlessly integrating cultural, healthcare, educational, and commercial facilities. This creates a modern, multifunctional, and synchronized urban space.

The project’s centerpiece is the Hoa Long Peninsula, nestled within a scarf-shaped lake, often referred to as the “Dragon’s Eye.” With its natural rivers, lakes, and lush greenery, this area will become a high-end resort urban area, offering a serene green living option in Bac Ninh’s rapidly urbanizing landscape.

Local authorities are actively progressing with land clearance, and transportation infrastructure is being upgraded.

Roads leading to the Hoa Long Peninsula are under construction. Workers are currently paving sidewalks and preparing road surfaces for asphalt laying.

In addition to this project, Vingroup has proposed a new urban area project in Gia Binh District, spanning nearly 6,000 hectares. This marks another step in their strategy to develop Bac Ninh’s urban space. These projects are expected to create a large-scale urban, commercial, and service hub north of Hanoi, meeting the housing and service needs of tens of thousands of residents.

In recent years, Bac Ninh’s real estate market has seen impressive growth across various segments, including housing, urban areas, and industrial zones. Major projects like Southeast Bac Ninh, Nam Son, and Phu My Hung’s Hong Hac City (with a $1.1 billion investment in Thuan Thanh) are contributing to the development of modern satellite urban chains around Hanoi, driving socio-economic growth in the region.

Bac Ninh is also a national leader in industrial development and FDI attraction, with a dynamic economy. To support this growth, the province is focusing on key infrastructure projects such as Gia Binh Airport, a 35 km long and 120 m wide road connecting the airport (with a total investment of over VND 71 trillion), and Ring Road 4. These initiatives will enhance connectivity and promote development in the Northeast region of the capital.

All these factors, combined with the Northwest New Urban Area project, will contribute to completing the urban landscape, attracting investment, and accelerating Bac Ninh’s transformation into a centrally governed city. This lays a solid foundation for sustainable and comprehensive regional development in the near future.
