As part of the event, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM) organized a dedicated pavilion for businesses, cooperatives, and farmers under the theme “Connecting Products in the Shrimp and Rice Value Chain.” The initiative aims to strengthen linkages within the value chain while promoting trade to help these entities reach international customers and markets.
This activity is part of the project “Enhancing International Market Access for Shrimp and Rice Enterprises through Improved Labor Skills and Occupational Safety” (2024–2026), supported by Oxfam in Vietnam. The project is implemented in key provinces/cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, An Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau (consolidated into 4 provinces/cities from July 1, 2025).
Amid rising market demands for product quality and traceability, VCCI-HCM not only facilitates trade promotion through exhibitions but also conducts training and consulting programs. These initiatives aim to enhance export standards, improve competitiveness, and integrate businesses into the global supply chain.
The pavilion features 6 businesses and 8 cooperatives from the shrimp and rice value chains, showcasing signature products. Highlights include ST24 and ST25 Eco-Rice from rice-shrimp farming models, along with value-added rice products (flour, noodles, vermicelli, pho). For seafood, exports include black tiger shrimp and whiteleg shrimp, plus processed items like dried shrimp, salted shrimp, and shrimp crackers.
Connecting Businesses and Cooperatives in Rice and Shrimp Production
As the leading organization supporting businesses, VCCI-HCM, in collaboration with Oxfam in Vietnam, has developed numerous initiatives for enterprises and cooperatives in the shrimp and rice value chains. Participation in the exhibition is a strategic move to enhance market access and foster collaboration among producers.
Mr. Nguyen Le Nhat Thanh, Deputy Head of the Employer and Female Entrepreneur Department at VCCI-HCM, stated: “By supporting businesses and cooperatives at Vietnam FoodExpo 2025, we provide a gateway to Vietnam’s most comprehensive food industry event. It’s an ideal platform for international importers and leading distributors to explore trade opportunities in food, beverages, and processing technologies.”
The International Food Industry Exhibition 2025 features over 500 booths from nearly 400 companies across 30 Vietnamese provinces and 20 countries/territories. Key sectors include fruits, seafood, beverages, tea, coffee, raw materials (rice, grains, spices), processed foods, and processing technologies.
Booths B1-B8 are divided into business and cooperative zones, with a central area dedicated to international trade connections. This setup offers cooperatives, in particular, a unique opportunity to enhance their business promotion capabilities.
