Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong (36), a chemistry teacher at Quynh Phu Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center in Hung Yen, shared that in previous years, her daily commute of over ten kilometers by motorcycle often exposed her to harsh weather conditions, from scorching heat to chilly rains.
She vividly recalls the days when strong winds and rain would soak her clothes, leaving her drenched upon arrival at school. Despite her dampened spirits, she had to immediately start teaching. As her teaching schedule became increasingly packed, she began seeking a safer and more comfortable mode of transportation to maintain her energy for her profession.
Her husband’s unexpected gift—a Bestune Xiaoma—arrived at the perfect moment. Upon first seeing the compact car, she instantly felt a connection. Its sleek design, soft colors, and compact size made her feel it was tailor-made for women, especially those with frequent travel needs like herself.
“It doesn’t need to be large or flashy; practicality and a perfect fit are all that matter,” she shared. The car comes with a convenient portable charging kit, allowing her to charge it at home using a standard power outlet for about 6 hours, providing a range of up to 170 km.

Her first driving experience with the Xiaoma was surprisingly smooth. The electric vehicle’s responsive acceleration, smooth throttle, and agile steering allowed her to adapt quickly. Navigating the narrow, bustling streets of Thai Binh (now Hung Yen), the car’s compact size proved advantageous, making tight turns and maneuvering through crowded areas effortless. “I never imagined driving a car could be this easy,” she remarked.
Since owning the Xiaoma, her daily routine has transformed. Each morning, she enjoys a clean cabin, gentle air conditioning, and her favorite music, starting her day energized. Arriving at school, she no longer smells of exhaust fumes or has wind-tousled hair. Rainy days are now stress-free, as she arrives dry and composed.
Professionally, the compact car has significantly streamlined her schedule. With back-to-back classes and errands like printing materials or meeting colleagues, the electric vehicle offers flexibility and convenience, eliminating parking worries in crowded areas. It’s also ideal for family tasks like picking up her children or running errands, easily fitting into tight parking spots.
In terms of performance, Ms. Duong praises the car’s smooth ride, ease of control, and urban-friendly design. The spacious visibility and minimalist interior ensure a clutter-free driving experience. “Starting my day in a clean, cool car boosts my confidence and ease before teaching,” she said.
The cost-effectiveness is a standout feature. Compared to previous fuel expenses, her monthly charging costs are a fraction of the price. The simplicity of electric vehicle maintenance, with fewer components to check, has also reduced her financial worries, a significant benefit on a teacher’s salary.
Her colleagues have taken notice of her “adorable” new car, with some younger teachers inquiring about purchasing their first vehicle. Her image as a confident female teacher driving a compact electric car daily has become both practical and inspiring, embodying independence in her lifestyle.
When asked about her trust in compact electric vehicles, Ms. Duong emphasizes her choice was based on her specific needs. “I don’t need a powerful or large car; safety, ease of use, and functionality are my priorities.” Describing the Xiaoma as “compact, reliable, and charming,” she sees it as a new companion in her life and work.
On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20), she views the Bestune Xiaoma as a meaningful gift to herself—a reward for her dedication to teaching. “A little comfort for myself is well-deserved,” she said. For Ms. Duong, the car not only simplifies her commute but also enhances her lifestyle, making her daily journey to school safer, more proactive, and filled with positive energy.
