Regarding the document from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction requesting coordination to adjust traffic signs and lane division plans on National Highway 51, the Dong Nai Department of Construction has collaborated with relevant agencies for inspection and review.

Mr. Nao Thien Anh Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction and Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee in Dong Nai, stated that the department has coordinated with the Traffic Police Department and local authorities to inspect and review. They have agreed to implement lane adjustments on National Highway 51, similar to those in Ho Chi Minh City. The changes are expected to take effect on December 20.
“Specifically, lanes 1 and 2 will be designated for motorized vehicles, while lane 3 will be reserved for small vehicles and passenger buses with fewer than 30 seats,” said Mr. Minh.
A few days prior, Ho Chi Minh City implemented traffic adjustments on the section of National Highway 51 passing through the city.
Accordingly, the two left lanes adjacent to the central median are designated for cars. The third lane is allocated for compact cars and passenger buses with fewer than 30 seats. The outermost right lane is reserved for two- and three-wheeled vehicles.
Preliminary assessments by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction indicate that traffic conditions on National Highway 51 have shown positive improvements, reducing accident risks by separating vehicle flows. This has also enhanced traffic flow and garnered positive feedback from residents on social media.
