According to recent reports, despite a slowdown in seafood exports during the fourth quarter due to U.S. tariff measures, major markets such as China, the European Union, and CPTPP member countries are expected to maintain stable import levels. This stability is projected to help Vietnam’s seafood export turnover reach approximately USD 10.5 billion for the year, marking a 5% increase compared to the previous year.
In terms of export product structure, shrimp remains the leading commodity, followed by pangasius. Meanwhile, tuna exports experienced a slight decline due to raw material shortages and supply chain disruptions caused by conflicts in the Middle East.
China has overtaken the U.S. as Vietnam’s largest seafood importer, with a turnover of USD 1.8 billion, reflecting a 34% year-on-year increase. The U.S. follows with USD 1.4 billion, up 8.4%; Japan with USD 1.3 billion; and the EU with USD 884 million.
