European Giant Partners with Dang Thanh Tam to Develop Mega Port-Airport-Industrial Complex

Hai Phong stands as Vietnam’s premier maritime city, boasting all five modes of transportation. It serves as the northern gateway to the sea, a pivotal industrial hub, and a critical transportation nexus within the Northern Key Economic Region.

The city is home to two major economic zones: Dinh Vu – Cat Hai and the Southern Coastal Economic Zone, spanning over 44,500 hectares. Additionally, Hai Phong hosts a Free Trade Zone covering nearly 6,300 hectares, offering unparalleled incentives and policies.

Further expansion is underway with a new 5,300-hectare specialized economic zone in the western region. This zone will feature Vietnam’s most attractive policies, including a 10% corporate tax rate for up to 30 years, a 50% reduction in personal income tax for 10 years, and a 10-year visa exemption for high-skilled experts and scientists. A streamlined “one-stop-shop” mechanism will minimize pre-checks and enhance post-checks.

Hai Phong’s infrastructure includes 69 industrial parks covering 18,900 hectares, with 43 already attracting investors. The city also boasts 104 berths across 50 ports, concentrated in Lach Huyen, Dinh Vu, Cam River, and Pha Rung.

These advantages make Hai Phong a magnet for domestic and international investors.

Recently, senior leaders from Kinh Bac Corporation (KBC) and Europe’s CTP Invest Ltd met with Hai Phong’s Chairman, Le Ngoc Chau, to discuss the development of an integrated port, airport, logistics, and industrial complex.

CTP Invest representatives highlighted their nationwide survey, ultimately choosing Hai Phong for investment. The company will inspect the Southern Economic Zone, Free Trade Zone, and key infrastructure projects in the city.

CTP Invest aims to connect Hai Phong with global leaders in high technology, semiconductors, and logistics. The company is committed to investing in Hai Phong’s strategic areas, starting with a 30-hectare infrastructure and factory project in Trang Due 3 Industrial Park in 2026.

Spanning 652.73 hectares within the Dinh Vu – Cat Hai Economic Zone, Trang Due 3 Industrial Park is a VND 8,000 billion project led by Saigon – Hai Phong Industrial Zone JSC (SHP), a KBC subsidiary.

Strategically located, Trang Due 3 benefits from Hai Phong’s integrated infrastructure and international connectivity. The park targets high-tech enterprises, fostering an eco-friendly electronics and electric vehicle supply chain.

At the May 2025 groundbreaking ceremony, multiple companies signed land lease agreements. Notable investors include Sao Hoa Toan Quoc (10 hectares for factory rentals), Horn Vietnam (9 hectares for headphone assembly), IDIS Vietnam (5.5 hectares for smart energy storage), and HALLA Electronics Vina (5 hectares for auto components, $25 million investment).
