According to recent updates, the land clearance process for the Gia Binh International Airport project has seen significant progress. As of now, local authorities in Bac Ninh province have recorded nearly 6,700 out of 7,980 households and individuals, with approximately 818 hectares of agricultural land declared. Over 1,000 billion VND has been provisionally paid to more than 2,300 households in Gia Binh commune.

In Luong Tai commune, authorities have announced a draft plan to disburse around 1,380 billion VND to over 2,400 households. Approximately 447 hectares of agricultural land, including areas with unauthorized leasing contracts or expired tenders, are currently undergoing document collection, review, and inventory.

For projects related to Gia Binh International Airport, Trung Chinh and Luong Tai communes have completed basic statistics and ownership identification for the resettlement area, cemetery relocation, religious sites, and other infrastructure, totaling over 260 hectares.

In Gia Binh commune, the resettlement area consists of two zones. Public meetings have been held, and authorities are conducting ownership verification, declaration, and inventory to finalize plans. In Dai Lai commune, approximately 20 hectares have been allocated for cemetery relocation, with around 14.5 billion VND paid to 52 households for 77 land plots covering 3.3 hectares.

However, frequent changes to the scale of the Gia Binh International Airport project have impacted the progress of related tasks, including land declaration and inventory. The enumeration of technical infrastructure relocation projects is time-consuming due to involvement from multiple ministries and agencies, particularly for complex religious sites.

Bac Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai emphasized the critical importance of the Gia Binh International Airport project for the province’s future development. He urged the entire political system, especially the Bac Ninh Land Fund Development Center and local communes, to prioritize land clearance for Phase 1. All plans and tasks must be transparent and in the best interest of the public.

Authorities must expedite agricultural land clearance to prepare for the arrival of international delegates attending the 2027 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

Regarding the cemetery area in Nhan Thang commune, Secretary Thai approved proposed solutions and directed relevant agencies to collaborate, ensuring fair compensation for residents within regulations. Provisional funding mechanisms require cooperation between investors and local governments.

Investors must promptly report emerging issues to competent agencies and local authorities for resolution, avoiding delays or complications.
