Korean Real Estate Conglomerate Eyes $8.5 Billion Investment in Northern Vietnam’s Industrial Hub

On November 24th, Mr. Pham Hong Son, Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, held a meeting with representatives from the Vietnam office of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) to discuss investment opportunities in the province.

During the meeting, Mr. Lim Hyun-Seong, Head of LH’s Vietnam office, highlighted that LH is a state-owned enterprise under the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, established in 2010 with a statutory capital of 40 trillion KRW (27 billion USD). As a leading developer of urban and industrial zones in Korea, LH delivers approximately 120,000 housing units annually.

Since its inception, LH has spearheaded major national projects, including new urban development, industrial complex expansion, and social housing initiatives. The corporation is now globalizing its expertise by exporting Korean models for smart cities, industrial zones, and innovative urban development. Projects are typically executed through joint ventures (JVs), government-to-government (G2G) partnerships, and master planning contracts.

In Bac Ninh, LH is conducting feasibility studies and preparing investment proposals for the Southeast Urban Area project, with an estimated investment of 19.78 trillion VND (approximately 840 million USD) across 240 hectares in Vu Ninh, Phuong Lieu, and Nhan Hoa wards.

Mr. Lim Hyun-Seong urged Bac Ninh’s leadership to expedite approvals and support LH’s investment activities in the province, particularly for the Southeast Urban Area project.

Chairman Pham Hong Son emphasized that LH’s expertise in housing and urban development aligns with Bac Ninh’s vision for sustainable, transit-oriented urban growth. He expressed confidence in a collaborative future focused on high-quality industrial and residential infrastructure to drive socioeconomic progress.

Bac Ninh seeks continued partnership with LH to advance smart city solutions and attract Korean businesses to the province. The Chairman directed relevant agencies to streamline LH’s procedural requirements and resolve any bottlenecks promptly.
