This event occurs amidst a global economic and maritime transport landscape in 2025 that continues to be affected by geopolitical conflicts, escalating operational costs, and increasingly stringent green transition requirements.

These factors demand higher optimization levels in logistics and import-export activities. In Vietnam, the Cai Mep – Thi Vai deep-water port cluster remains a strategic gateway for goods to Europe and the Americas while facing local overloading pressures due to the region’s strong volume growth.

According to TCIT, despite market volatility, this year’s volume reached the 2 million TEU mark 22 days earlier than in 2020. The port currently operates 12 international service routes, accommodating mother vessels with a capacity of up to 174,000 DWT and connecting to other ports and industrial zones via feeder systems, barges, and road transport.

With the current growth momentum, the volume for 2025 is projected to reach approximately 2.2 million TEU.
