Revised Title: Adjusting Exploration and Mining Plans for Select Mineral Deposits in Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, and Dong Nai Provinces

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 2581/QD-TTg on November 24, 2025, approving the adjusted master plan for the exploration, exploitation, processing, and utilization of mineral resources in the following areas: the Nui Phao tungsten mine in Thai Nguyen province, the Ta Phoi copper mine in Lao Cai province, and the Tho Son and Thong Nhat bauxite mines in Dong Nai province. This adjustment is part of the broader master plan for mineral resource exploration, exploitation, processing, and utilization for the period 2021–2030, with a vision extending to 2050.

Adjustments to the planning of mineral exploration, exploitation, processing, and utilization for several mines in Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, and Dong Nai provinces.

Specifically, the Decision on Approving Adjustments to the Planning of Mineral Exploration, Exploitation, Processing, and Utilization for the following areas has been issued: tungsten in Nui Phao (Thai Nguyen Province), copper in Ta Phoi (Lao Cai Province), and bauxite in Tho Son and Thong Nhat (Dong Nai Province). These adjustments are part of the Master Plan for Mineral Exploration, Exploitation, Processing, and Utilization for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050.

1. Adjustments to the list of exploration and mining projects, along with the coordinates of the tungsten mining project in Thai Nguyen Province (Nui Phao and adjacent areas), are detailed in Section 3 of Appendices II.8, III.8, and VI.8 of Decision No. 866/QĐ-TTg dated July 18, 2023 (see Appendix I for details).

2. Adjustments to the list of mining projects and coordinates for the copper exploration and mining project in Lao Cai Province (Ta Phoi mine) are detailed in Section 1 of Appendices III.10 and VI.10 of Decision No. 866/QĐ-TTg dated July 18, 2023 (see Appendix II for details).

3. Adjustments to the list of mining and processing projects for bauxite in Dong Nai Province (formerly Binh Phuoc Province) are detailed in Section 3 of Appendices III.1 and IV.1 of Decision No. 866/QĐ-TTg dated July 18, 2023 (see Appendix III for details).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the People’s Committees of Lao Cai, Dong Nai, and Thai Nguyen provinces are fully responsible for the accuracy of the reported information and data before the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to issue mineral resource activity permits for the areas specified in this Decision, in accordance with the law.
